The remains of an old motte and bailey castle. Nice little walk, and a beautiful view.

Amazing and beautiful views. Its clear why a Castle was built on here.

Lovely views from around the castle mound and from the top. The path leading up to the castle field was very muddy making it difficult to access. I am sure this path could be tarmac by the council.

A must-see addition to a visit to Rhuddlan for anybody that's there at least in part to visit the castle. You get some great views from the top, and the hill itself looks excellent from the south-east as you walk along the nearby footpath.

While this isn't a mind-blowing experience by any measure, I've given this site 5 stars because it's free, easy to access, and provides absolutely as much as you want to get out of it. Read up on it (even if you want to wait until you get there, and sit down on top of the hill while you read) and you'll be surprised to learn its significance within in the area.

Bonus: Look out for a friendly little heard of cows that're often left in a grassy spot a little further along the path to the south-east!
