My parents really enjoyed this quirky little museum run by enthusiastic volunteers. We liked the hands on approach by visitors being welcomed. Especially as my elderly dad had to fiddle with everything including changing the wartime music playing in one of the rooms. Don't expect a slick modern experience. This is a friendly place managing on a shoestring. The volunteers are excellent

A step back in time to see how it was during world war two. They have a good selection of wartime items and the tour is quite engaging with a chance to try on some clothes, gas masks etc.
The place itself is a little run down with damp and damaged ceilings etc. but I think it's run by volunteers and they do a lot of school trips for virtually nothing so you don't feel ripped off. Two adults and two kids would have been about £25 I think but the lady got chatting to one of my daughters who said she had been with the school and are a fuss of her, making her a tour guide for us and giving her free entry which put a smile on her face.
I was hoping for some military vehicles myself but there wasn't the room (I could see a few jeeps outside but they were not accessible) so it's an indoor tour.
Well worth a visit for 1-2 hours with the kids to show them how good they have it now.

Little gem of a museum in Swansea... was visiting from the states; shout out to Stateside Jacks and decide to check this place out. The content of exhibits and knowledge of the very friendly staff makes this a worth while stop IMHO. Great presentation of Swansea in World War 2.

Saw the exhibit of POW Camp 198 Island Farm and the story of the great escape associated with said POW camp. The actual camp is east of the museum on the way to Cardiff just south of Bridgend (A48 bypass).

Overall one can not leave without increasing ones knowledge of history in this area during WW2. Great job.

Fascinating place, I would really recommend it for all ages. Information is clearly displayed and exhibits explained in a straightforward way, but also provide a depth of information if you want it. I came here with my mother - who is 86 and lived through WW2 in Swansea - and my best friend who, like me, grew up in Swansea. There is a lot to see and experience here, and we all learned a lot.

I brought 90 children from our school here to learn about WW2 and we had a fantastic day. The staff are dressed in 1940's clothing, there is a dressing up room for the children, a 1940's street, original newsreels and artifacts and the staff make it a personal experience. It is small but plenty to do, you will need to take your own food but we were made mugs of tea and tables were put outside for us to sit at and very much appreciated. Thank you.

A most amazing little museum.. It is just reopened after closing for COVID-19. Well worth the visit and they really need our support right now. It was like a tardis unassuming on the outside but vast on the inside.. went on and on.. with bomb shelters, rooms of memorabilia and even a recreated high street...trenches too. My kids loved dressing up.. so much effort made by the owners. Great thing to do on a rainy morning

I came here when I was in primary school and enjoyed as actors made it feel real. Came another day with parents few years later it. Unfortunately no actors that day I went with my parents. Shame its closing.
