The Cottages at Blackadon Farm

This was our first stay at The Cottages at Blackadon Farm and had a great week.
7 family members - 5 adults & 2 children - stayed in The Parlour Cottage which was spacious enough for us and had everything inside that we needed. Very comfortable rooms.
The Cottages are set within a stunning area of Moorhaven Village near Ivybridge close enough to transport links and main roads. Exceptionally quiet at the Cottages resulting in an extremely peaceful stay.
We caught the train to Plymouth on one occasion which was extremely cost effective for 7 of us.
The Den/games room on site was enjoyed by both adults & children. Great to have games already there so we didn't need to pack loads of extra stuff!
The picnic area has stunning views over Dartmoor and a beautiful place to relax & recharge.
Marcus & Ryan have excellent local knowledge and recommendations of things to do & places to see.
We'll definitely be booking again!

The Cottages at Blackadon Farm are the perfect home away from home. We stayed in The Parlour for 4 nights and it was very welcoming, Marcus & Ryan have designed the cottages perfectly and have considered the sustainability aspect too. The location is excellent, perfect for walks and visiting local hotspots. They helped us have the best week and plan great activities to do. We also got to spend some time with the resident donkeys! Will definitely be recommending to all my family and friends.

Fantastic! We stayed 6 nights and had a very mixed weather (typical Dartmoor beg. of June). Our hosts more than compensated this. They were always around helping, providing great tips for food or things to do. My kids (and in fact the whole family) also fell in love with the donkeys :)

The apartment (booked the parlour): space enough for 6 people, very clean and comfortable, excellent wifi. The apartments are all recently renovated, I believe, everything is up to a very high standard. We brought our dog, no problems at all, hosts are animal-loving! 2 minutes out of the Blackadon Farm and you are in the Dartmoor wilderness - amazing for walking. We will definitively return to the Blackadon Farm and I can only recommend this great Dartmoor experience for everyone!

We had a wonderful stay in The Parlour at Blackadon Farm. The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished in a contemporary style, with modern bathrooms, excellent, firm beds and a constant supply of hot water. Ryan and Marcus where the perfect hosts. They made us feel very welcome and couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. Ivybridge is a great place to be based for exploring this beautiful part of Devon and we will definitely be making a return trip.

Our first trip to Blackadon Farm and it won’t be our last, we have just enjoyed the most enjoyable stay. Located in pure tranquillity, on the southern boundary of Dartmoor it is perfectly placed to enjoy amazing walks and visits to some of Devon’s most beautiful inland areas and coastal towns. Our cottage was immaculate, extremely well equipped and furnished throughout to a very high standard. Our amazing hosts, Marcus and Ryan, were so welcoming and were always on hand to provide guidance and advice, ensuring that we were able to make the very most of our Devon experience. Guys, thank you so much! If you are looking for somewhere special to stay, we couldn’t recommend Blackadon Farm highly enough. We will most certainly be back.

We booked Blackadon for a therapeutic group retreat in the Great Barn (upper and lower). We also used the smaller cottages for our staff. Our stay was phenomenal! It was 5-star clean, the hospitality was top-notch, it was stocked with high-quality linens and a well-equipped kitchen ( & if we didn't have what we needed for our large group, Marcus & Ryan were so happy to help), and the GROUNDS...they are MAGICAL!!! Our participants had transformative experiences walking the grounds, stopping by the river, seeing the animals, and just enjoying the escape to spectacular countryside. We highly recommend it for your next getaway, for yourself or a group. Even though the cottages were booked, we felt that we had ample space and privacy on the premises; other guests were quiet (and nearly invisible!) though present. What an amazing place for retreat. Thank you, beautiful Blackadon!

Wish I could give the cottages more than 5 stars.
This is the third time we have stayed here with our children and family. We absolutely love the tranquility of the surroundings of the cottage, the ease of access to many of the hidden and well known treasures of Devon. Its a great location to make day trips to Cornwall, or just walk a short distance and access Dartmoor. The views are absolutely incredible.
All of this is made even better by the comfort of the cottages. They are well equipped, clean and with beds that are super comfortable. I feel well rested after our adventures during the day and we always have such a peaceful stay. I just can’t bring myself to look for anywhere else to book.

Marcus & Ryan are absolutely fantastic and on hand for the best advice and guidance. Every time we return, we discover another incredible place. I can’t recommend a stay at Blackadon Cottages enough 😊

Marcus and Ryan have spared no expense or overlooked anything that you may want for a fabulous home from home cottage.
We could happily live in any of them.
Having been several times, both working on retreats, and staying for pleasure because it’s so wonderful there, there’s nothing to dislike.
Set on Dartmoor, it’s just a few minutes from the A38, but a world away from everyday life, it’s a perfect location to explore South Devon, walk on Dartmoor or just sit and relax.
Watching the stars and seeing the Milky Way on clear nights (depending upon the time of year) listening to owls hooting and all manner of creatures, it’s just a perfect place.
Can’t wait to go back again soon, see the donkeys and leave the troubles of the world behind..
