The Keepers Lodge - Accommodation

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Very peaceful. Don't bring a baby here though! Will wake the whole house!

I'm actually very shocked at this place getting 5 stars! Admittedly at first glance it is beautiful and it really has the *potential* to be amazing. Unfortunately the owner has focused purely on how much money he can squeeze from people rather than making it a place you would ever even remotely consider returning to... Our family fully occupied the lodge and if you are one of the unlucky ones to be in one of the rooms that has barely enough room for the bed (right up against 3 of 4 walls) then I sympathise. Or perhaps you will be tucked away on a single bed crammed into the eaves? Or on a mattress on the floor of a mezzanine floor with no privacy from the living room? Oh the choice is yours! You definitely need to have earplugs with you, as the hunting dogs kept in cages next to the lodge bark incessantly (probably because they are locked in cages to be fair to the dogs!) And if you leave an outside door open, the owner's pet dogs will run into and throughout the house. Not ideal if you have children around who are nervous of dogs! There are not enough seats for everyone to relax in the same room at once, unless you permanently sit around the giant dining table, which I imagine was chosen purely for dramatic effect as it is certainly not practical! It makes it difficult to put a bowl underneath the drip when the roof leaks in the rain. The BBQ was full of ash from the previous occupants and the racks filthy. I would expect that when charging the extortionate rates that they do, they could manage to get a BBQ cleaned prior to guests staying... But maybe that's just me... For your own sake do not raise any issues with the owner, as you will be treated with disdain, patronised and belittled. Apparently the disgustingly cloudy water in the hot tub that left scum around the edges and on your skin was actually just bubbles and not in fact a dirty filter that was clearly not up to standard. We were accused of lying and told to let him get on with things.

The Keepers Lodge is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. It’s a beautiful setting with panoramic views. We took the short drive to Abersoch for a walk on the beach and a lovely lunch. The owner also gave us shooting lessons which was amazing and great fun! Thanks for a brilliant weekend!

A wonderfully calm oasis with fabulous views of the Llŷn Peninsula. This was the perfect setting for a relaxing weekend of fresh air, beach walks, laughing, eating, drinking and making memories with friends.The lodge was super comfy and excellently equipped for all our culinary needs. Just when it couldn't get any better our weekend was topped off by a first class shooting lesson to boot! Thankyou so much!

The perfect place for a peaceful getaway. Beautiful views and a warm welcome from the owner. Would definitely recommend!
