Fantastic place in the middle of beautiful scenery, totally unspoilt away from it all.Fantastic walking.Great for dogs and hikers.Will definitely return.

Stunning place, so tranquil and away from everyone and everything. Managing the solar charging and batteries takes a bit of work, but other than that this is a perfect place to get away from it all.

Aside from its incredible setting, Llechwedd Mawr is a quality place. What you see online is nowhere near as good as the actuality. Once you brave the two fords, you really are in for a treat.
The little conservatory's views are off the scale. The big living room is understatedly tasteful and comfortable. The bedrooms are very cosy and warm. The two washrooms are well finished and thanks to excellent heated towel rails, are nice and warm.
I had no idea being off-grid could be so luxurious.
What I discovered during my short stay is that no matter the weather conditions, Llechwedd Mawr's surroundings always look amazing; they enhance whatever elements are thrown at them.
Evan is a good man and like his wilderness masterpiece, he is unique. His grandson Hafin is a good man too. I was hopeless at getting the generator started, but Evan and Hafin were very patient and helpful. Hafin made the nine-mile trip after a hard day's work at the farm, in the dark, and was friendly and communicative, while he gave the generator a good going over and got it started.
Llechwedd Mawr rates as one of my best discoveries and I will be returning next year. The booking has long since been made.
