I stayed here for 4 nights in the walnut cottage. It has a lovely view and you can see all of the hills. Loved the farmland animals as they were always a pleasant noise to wake up to and I could sit in the sunroom and watch them. The pool and hot tub were good and they get cleaned three times a day which is a positive. It is kid friendly, there is a play park and a couple of footballs in the grass yard outside. Some negatives about the place is that in walnut, some wood was cracking and it seemed to be getting worse. You could tell it had not been seen to in a long time. Yes, it's going for an older look but maybe just fill in some of the larger gaps. Another negative is that the upstairs is really small. I understand that there are other cottages in a small are but the roof in the upstairs room seems to be on a very steep angle. This unfortunately means that there is less space and I had to lean down for most parts of the upstairs. A final negative is the location. I have only put 3 stars for location as it is akward to get to. Don't get me wrong, the view is amazing and I love where it is placed, the only problem I am having is getting to the location. The road is dirt for most of it and there is a very steep hill just before you enter which the car was struggling to get up. There are also no shops nearby. The closest ones are about 5 miles down the road in Brecon. Overall, if you are looking for a nice, relaxing holiday with an amazing view then I would suggest here is the place. On the other hand, if you like the big rooms and a lot of space then I would consider either another, bigger cottage or somewhere else that suits your standards. I would come back here again and I would love to try out a new cottage to see what my experience is like there.

It was a lovely weekend stay. We needed some “quiet rest” and this has been perfect. Emma has been extremely helpful and it was a pleasure to meet her.
The cottage is clean and warm, the parking was easy and the swimming pool with hot tub were a real bonus. The swimming pool is quite good size and it is heated so that was pleasure too. The hot tub is well maintained but most breathtaking was the view from the hot tub!!! It is just fantastic; simply gorgeous and we actually had very warm weather for the last weekend in October so we used pool and hot tub whole weekend.
The children had a lovely time playing and running barefoot and making new ‘dog friends’. Our dog loved mooching in the sunshine and we relaxed and recharged…perfect!
We will make sure that we share our wonderful find with friends and family, and we will most definitely be staying again
Very many thanks. The touch of leaving dog treats for our puppy, was much appreciated!!

Fantastic views of the mountains and surrounding countryside from the cottage. Vale Rowan cottage has its own hot tub just outside the front door. The garden/patio area is enclosed, so safe for young children, and dogs. No noise from outside traffic, and at night very little light pollution, so you can see the stars clearly - if there are no clouds. Well worth a visit.

Lovely cottage in a stunning spot. Easy for Brecon and Hay, and of course tons of walking options. The pool and hot tub are a very welcome added bonus. Happy to recommend and looking forward to a return trip in the future :)
