Colliery cottage durham lanchester

Immaculate, beautifully presented and surprisingly spacious holiday home. Clare was very welcoming and helpful and had provided thoughtful extras (milk, tea etc) which were particularly appreciated as we were only staying for one night. Thoroughly recommended as a place to stay if visiting the area - not too far to Durham if dropping off students.

Fabulous place to stay. I stayed with 4 friends and Clare was really helpful in providing an extra bed. Bargain. Spotless cottage and an amazing welcome pack. Very well equipped and decorated for Xmas complete with tree. Great location for Durham. Loved our stay. So cosy and spacious. Thank you.

My wife and I, also my son and his girlfriend stayed at colliery cottage Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of September my son and I ran the great north run. The cottage is in a good location for the GNR. The cottage itself was perfect plenty room for 4 people exceptionally clean and very cosy, the owners Clare and Ian were very friendly and helpful, they had even left us a few supplies for snacks and drinks. The pub just a few doors away was also very good the food was fantastic.

The cottage is lovely, very clean and spacious. My daughter, son in law, granddaughter and my self stayed there recently and found it a fantastic base to visit the north east, Durham, Beamish and Bamburgh all within easy reach. The cottage is beautifully furnished with everything needed. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Thank you would defo stay again and highly recommend. Friendly neighbours and pub too!

Perfect!! Warm cosy and every extra detail catered for! We just loved staying here and have already booked again! Couldn’t recommend highly enough! My 11 year old said he’d rather be staying here than go abroad! Thank you so much 😀😀

Stayed at Colliery Cottage to visit family over Christmas from the Highlands. A lovely warm and friendly welcome from Clare,and she added a Chistmassy feel to our stay with a tree and Dec's.The cottage is immaculate and has every thing you may need. The rooms are bigger than we thought and you don't need the heating on long, as the cottage retains the heat for a long time.Cornsay is a lovely quiet village with horses across the road and a lovely friendly village pub with good food. Will definitely stay here again.

Classy. Great peaceful location. A short drive to all local attractions. I can't recommend it highly enough.
