Upper Close Cottage is set in a beautiful area near the small hamlet of Walton close to the border of England in Mid wales. On our arrival we found the cottage was immaculate with lovely large kitchen and conservatory on the back. Richard and Annabel (the owners) were the so helpful, dropping off fire wood when needed and available if needed most times of the day and just a phone call away. I could write an essay on the various things to do around the area but wont spoil the surprise.

We spent a lovely week relaxing in the country side with the dogs, and have already booked up for next year... WELL RECOMMENDED!!! and a big thank you to Richard and Annabel.

If you're looking to completely get away from it all this place is perfect. Set amongst peaceful farmland there's plenty of walks on the doorstep. The perfect sized 4 bedroom (2 double and 2 twin) house could easily accommodate 8 adults with no problems. Large kitchen diner with all the equipment you're likely to need including a dishwasher. Lounge is also large with a log burner and plenty of seating, it also opens up into the conservatory to offer more seating. The conservatory in turn opens out onto the large lawn which is perfect for dogs and kids to run around in. There's a barbecue and large table & bench if you want to dine outside. Pet friendly and there's plenty of parking too. Utility room contains a washer and a dryer if you need them. There's a shower room downstairs and a bathroom upstairs. There's free WiFi, hot tub and games room containing a pool table, table tennis table and a dartboard to keep the kids entertained. Owners are very friendly and helpful if you've got any issues of questions.
If I had any suggestions to improve the place I'd install an EV charging point as there's none in the area, install heating in the games room and swap out the double beds for king size, there's plenty of room to accommodate them.

Great house for families to meet or big families. Great for dogs. So much space for them. Nice localish pub for food. Great for a quiet holiday. Oh don't forget the games room.

A hidden gem with wonderful views, facilities, and hosts.

We stayed here during June and were blessed with wonderful weather. We were able to enjoy the garden, local walks, and of course the sun loungers and hot tub!

The games room is excellent quality and ideal for rainy days.

The views tho… wow. Panoramic views and sun all day long.

The owners were incredibly attentive and even cleaned the hot tub daily.

The quality of the facilities really impressed us. The plates, cutlery, knives, all the way to the towels, beds, shower and bathroom were excellent. We cooked a Sunday lunch and we’re struggling for equipment one bit.

The lounge has some very comfortable lazy boy sofas and the garden room was a wonderful place to take coffee in the morning.

We even had a daily visit from the farm puppy, Bayley, who took a shine to our dogs. Yes, it’s dog friendly, too.

A superb stay and many of our friends are already interested in booking from our photos posted on Facebook.

Recommend for a Welsh getaway!

If you like getting away from it all then come here. It's on a farm so you will hear sheep, the odd quad bike and the bark of a dog but it's in a beautiful, secluded location. The house has everything you need and the owners are super friendly and helpful.
