Had a new Magnet kitchen installed by Absolute home improvements in January/February of 2021. Had a few issues to begin with such as poorly mitred skirting boards, cupboard trims cut too short and a socket not installed for the fridge freezer. As I tried to move the fridge freezer into the space left by the fitters there wasn't enough room resulting in a skirting board needing to be removed to make room.
After the install was complete we started noticing the grouting of our kitchen floor had started to change colour and after some investigating I discovered a cheap and very poorly fitted soil pipe connector attached to the soil pipe using silicone (should have used a wrap around soil pipe connector and some pipe cement) and propped up using folded up cardboard and off cuts of wood. Waste water was freely escaping into our kitchen.
I contacted Danny to assess and repair the damage which was now spreading to the plastered walls, skirting boards and toe boards and we agreed a time and date which suited him. On the date agreed I left work early to meet him and he failed to turn up and didn't even let me know he wasn't going to be arriving. I contacted Danny again to arrange the repairs and he said he would arrange for someone to carry out the work but I had no contact from him afterwards. Obviously he had already recieved his money for the work and no longer cared. I ended up contacting Trading standards and regional management at Magnet to assist.
My partner has been working on an NHS ward during the covid pandemic which has been very stressful and she didn't deserve the added stress brought on by a damaged kitchen and a company refusing to repair the damage they left.
