The best stables with the most amazing team. Donna, Jack, Paige, Di and the rest of the team are brilliant. The horses are all so well mannered, looked after and enjoy the work they do.

Could not recommend Cholwell enough.

First time on a horse for over 3 decades, was very well looked after, instructions were perfectly presented and encouragement was given to bolster your confidence. Felt very comfortable and relaxed after a short period of time meaning you could enjoy the ride and the wonderful views even more.
Will definitely be returning and would recommend to everyone. Top job 🏅😎

This was the best day out! As first time horse riders we couldn't have hoped for a better experience. The staff were really friendly and patient, with lots of tips and support. The horses were gorgeous and calm making it an enjoyable ride. The ride is on top of the moors and the scenery was incredible. Highly recommend!

The 1.5hr ride was lovely. I was paired up with a lovely pony who looked after me and gave me a wonderful ride across the moors. The smile on my face said it all when we were cantering across the open land. Donna is knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend a ride here. I will definitely stop by again when next in the area.

Adapted to both experienced and novice riders. The guides offered to galloping on the moor for those who want to, while others can walk or trot nicely.
It was my partner's first ride, he had a great time, and me too! :)

Myself and my 11 year old daughter had an amazing time at Cholwell riding stables. We booked the 1 hour session as we were both inexperienced. Everything was explained to us and all our questions were answered. Rachel and Riley took us out onto the moors and were brilliant escorts/instructors. They were both very knowledgeable and patient and encouraged us to trot and to handle the horse/pony on our own. I was expecting to be led around but they gave us confidence to try on our own. I wouldn't hesitate to book another session at Cholwell, the animals looked well cared for, it's well run and set right on the moors.

Lovely people and lovely horses! So far I’ve been twice as a complete beginner and have felt totally safe and well looked after. Everyone has been really kind and given really good instruction. Even the horses seem to be teaching me. Would 100% recommend to anyone with an interest in riding no matter your age or experience (I am 29!) 🙂

Had an amazing ride this morning with two friends. We're all different standards, but that was accommodated without fuss. Horses are delightful and well-cared for, the landscape and scenery is dramatic and beautiful. They also have a great selection of clothing and footwear you can borrow to deal with whatever weather Dartmoor has to offer (including hail today!)
I'll definitely be back, thanks again for a fantastic experience.
