We visited the outpatients for a consultant appointment. The parking was easy in a multi storey car park 1. They do charge all patients for parking regardless of whether you are disabled. Although there is a small reduction if you have an outpatient appointment. Outpatient clinic itself looks a bit tired and functional with lots of cafes/ eating areas at the entrance. The check in for appointments is done through computer which is good. Waiting time was good and I was seen promptly. The doctors in the gynaecological and dermatology clinic were excellent can’t recommend them enough.

Busy hospital outpatients department of addenbrookes hospital Cambridge the main entrance leads to the many different departments in the hospital most of which are linked by very long corridors that will take you to both ends of the hospital building appointment self-check in terminals are located in the main entrance opposite the help desk/addmin area where volunteer guides will direct you to the appropriate department if its your first visit. A site bus 🚌 runs from both ends of the hospital to the carparks and outpatients department's all around the site and is complimentary for patients visiting the hospital a round trip of approximately 15 minute return to any point on site.

Shops in the Outpatients Department: Not many but enough to get by. Pharmacy which gets very busy, on a ticket display option. WRVS cafe
run entirely by friendly volunteers. Get very busy around lunch time. Tea, coffee, cakes and snacks can be obtained here, if you did not have time to eat, or have arrived early for an appointment. Good place to meet a friend if they need assistance in one of the outpatient clinics. Amigo is one of two small shops in the hospital (the other in the concourse) and selling almost every last little thing you might have forgotten.

Gosh darn, Addenbrookes security are the most useless, incompetent people in world. Standing by the doors letting anyone in, mask or not. The security themselves are no better.

They all appear too small, unfit or old to enforce any kind of protocol and have people take them seriously. Very much the Dad’s Army of the hospital. Apart from the likeability, enthusiasm and integrity.

Just a hopeless bunch of rejects then.
