Absolutely amazing. I totally recommend it. They made us feel at home and my first pregnancy was well supported throughout
by all the midwives. In particular thank you Tania, you are the sweetest midwife I ever met. I wish you all the success cause you truly deserve it

5 ++ can’t praise the maternity team at George Elliot MU enough. There from start to finish. Took the time to look after the welfare of our little family; baby mummy and mummy. Friendly , caring and inclusive. Really make you feel top priority . Shout out to Sammi and Frank for being above and beyond. Adding Kindness and humour to intense moments can make all the difference . Thanks again Vanessa , Nicole and of course Baby Autumn xx

I had the best experience here. My midwives Jackie and Ruth absolutely outstanding during the labour. From my antenatal care, hospital appointments to labour, everything outstanding. I highly recommend George Elliott maternity unit 🙏

Extremely good care whilst on labour ward. Midwives were so friendly for my second birth. If only I had the same two midwives for my first birth. Listened to everything I wanted and gave great care.

All of the staff have been absolutely amazing and reacted so quickly when my wife went into labour. The aftercare has been second to none and every staff member has given us support and kindness all the way though. I really can't recommend the maternity ward highly enough.

The maternity staff at the George Elliot were absolutely fantastic. Katie Rebecca, Frank and all of their colleagues truly looked after us for the birth of our daughter last week. Thank you so much for all your hard work and care. Charlotte, Ant and Eva. X

(Durkan) After being initially booked in for a home birth, due to reduced foetal movement at 41 weeks I was admitted to the labour suite for monitoring and encouraged to have an induction to move my labour along (I was already in early labour). After a previous traumatic birth from an induction I was initially disheartened however my experience at GEH was incredibly positive. At every turn the midwives respected my birth plan and took the time to read it completely and ask questions/offer equivalent alternatives since I was no longer able to birth at home.
I felt supported, respected and advocated for.
For the main event we had the loveliest midwife and student midwife who couldn’t have done more for us. The same midwife has come to the house twice since for baby and my checks, which has provided continuity of care to support my mental health, enabling us to ask any questions about our birth experience, since there were some medical complications.
I wholeheartedly believe that, though a home birth was supported and planned, my personal circumstances and complications meant that a hospital birth was the right choice for me and my baby and all of my wishes were met with support and openness. My husband was with me the entire time because I was in labour.
My community midwife who I’d seen all through pregnancy also called me, when we were in hospital, the day after my little one was born to see how I was and altered her schedule to be able to come to the house to discharge us at home. Mine and my baby’s care has been person-centred throughout.
My family and I have been in the best hands.
