Emergency Department (A&E)

Went in for some stitches for a deep cut, seen by friendly and skilled staff. A&E reception clean and modern. Treated within three hours despite the department being quite busy. Those who complain about waiting a few hours need to understand it’s a hospital dealing with wide ranging and complex medical issues, not a restaurant 🙃

This is the worst Emergency Room you can visit EVER.
On arrival Saying 3.5 Hours wait, 6 hours later there is 3 patients infront of you ! Get yourself a tent,and bag of food,by the time you finish your food and sleep,they might have a look at you .Vending machine is killer expensive,car park is the same ! Absolutely terribly disappointing service ! If there was option to stop paying my NHS Contributions I WOULD DO IT ! They don't deserve a penny ! Get a private medical insurance and don't deal with them !

Welcome to the place of awful!
Waiting for 4 hours already and still a few people infront of us. My partner cut off his finger tip and is slowly bleeding through the dressing while being neglected by staff.
When I asked for dressing to change they told me that they can't give me any as this may cause infection, as apparently leaving a wound soaked in it's own blood seems to b alright and no matter of concern.
Highlight is that nurses think irrigation solution and tap water are same thing. Be careful people what they clean your wounds with as tap water can cause infections.

Poor service nothing to do while waiting, drinks machine & food vending damn expensive. TV don't work to pass time. Thrn your told if your not sick you must leave to allow others that are sick to sit down. So when your an ex wife & ex husband & looking after a sick child of yours to be told those who are not ill please give up seats in waiting room to those that need thrm.. Very bad service indeed.

Came with very low expectations based other A&E experiences however this A&E surprised me a lot! Quick admission, early triage and good treatment with kindness. Waiting time from initial triage to treatment can be improved but overall not terrible (I.e . Not 5-6 hrs waiting time)

there was no wheelchair for me ...
It's hard to get x-ray if you have gout
they don't know what pain it is and how hard it is to walk

A worse place to be treated than here is just Hell. Waited more than 10 hours on an iron bench for doctor who didn’t even tell the diagnosis. (With an emergency illness)

Been 4 times in 2022. Fantastic triage and seen quickly every time. Great nurses and junior doctors. The senior doctors can be a little blunt and unhelpful but otherwise it’s probably the best A&E in England.
