Psychiatric hospital, well connected by bus. Near to the tram but a little tricky to find the station. Plenty of parking.

Everyone is friendly and staff services are excellent! We need help though because we are short of staff and need to help more patients to recover. :)

Staff seem ok but some are either incompetent or thieving swines. The foods nice though. Outdoor communal areas are ruined by an unnecessary amount of manholes.

I can't comment on the ward because I wasn't allowed onto it! I was visiting my friend who, because she was allowed to leave the ward, wasn't allowed anyone but 1 family designated member to see her on the ward. That person is sick & hasn't been able to visit for months. We were forced to take the only 2 chairs in the open corridor, weather was foul, the restaurant is closed at weekends, NO LOUNGE & the tiny pastoral room was in use. Staff weren't answering doorbell at front door which was not opening automatically to visitors. Its no wonder my friend wasn't improving - she is so isolated & visiting is far from relaxed or welcoming. How is this encouraging social interaction?

I was referred here through my GP when I was 17 because I had struggled with emotional dysregulation all my life. I spoke to a female Psychiatrist who said I can not possibly have ADHD or any other suspected emotional problem because I was able to concentrate on the conversation we were having. After the meeting she handed me a leaflet for anxiety and that was it. I felt like I was made to feel I was exaggerating my symptoms or simply had teenager angst, I definitely felt talked down to. I am now 26 and it took me almost a decade to get a diagnosis for autism and ADHD as my GP did more to support my health as they questioned why I constantly needed antidepressants or anti anxiety meds and helped me to understand I had a deeper mental health condition than this place ever did. I then had to go back to here to get the autism official diagnosis again and the ASD nurse tried to cancel my appointment an hour before it was to start and the new psychiatrist I had to see was a man who had absolutely no understanding of how autism presents itself in women and solely wanted to base his diagnosis on eye contact, he even suggested that because I played in a basketball team I had good social skills and he wanted to do an eye camera test on me. These psychiatrists read research papers on typical symptoms for ADHD and autism in men and fail to understand that women can mask their emotional dysregulation to the extent to appear normal and lead normal lives, they have failed me and will continue to fail other girls and women who come to them with autism.

This review is in regards to therapy I had back in 2012, unfortunately, I only saw what the person said in his letters to the GP some years later, so I don't think I could complain.

I had a therapist who firstly told me to go cold turkey from my meds, he then proceeded to threaten to discharge me because I couldn't make an appointment due to withdrawal symptoms, gout and a tooth infection.

The man made me feel VERY uncomfortable and he wasn't dealing with my trauma, he was too fixated on my weight.. trying to claim it was causing issues when in actual fact it was my mental health causing me to be overweight!!! I've since lost 8 st and feel no better!!! Rick Carless was his name. Totally horrible, nasty, and unempathetic person.

I gave to stars because the person that assessed me was good, only Rick chose to ignore the information he provided in regards to my mental health and why I have them etc.

This man single handily made me feel worse, I tried therapy once more after with another company and they weren't much cop either. Due to these two people, I won't try therapy again. These people are meant to help you.
