Lochranza Youth Hostel

Very nice hostel to stay in Arran. Great view just outside the hostel with horse farm next to it. Really big kitchen to accommodate the guests as restaurants are quite far. Utensils and tools in the kitchen are great. The room was clean and comfortable. Good place to stay with friends in Arran!

Nice place. Had a private room for family of 4 with 2 kids 11 and 13. Clean and quiet. Maybe not best if not back packing nor hiking because staying in hotel not easy and the more interesting is self catering room. Otherwise maybe too expensive compared to other accomodations.

We stayed here at short notice after our ferry was cancelled. Very impressed with dinner and breakfast, accommodation very comfortable, staff helpful. Evening walk along the shore, saw seals and red deer.

Nothing here not to like. Great views, rooms are clean and comfy, 2 lounges, one with TV, and a large dinning room. Well equipped kitchen. Small breakfast room if you choose to pay for the breakfast option, all you can eat, help yourself to cereals, yogurt, toast, butter/jam juice, fruit and coffee or tea. Staff are lovely and helpful, they have been working here and taking care of the place for years. Family/private rooms are on the top floor, and unfortunately, due to failing health and mobility problems of both myself and hubby, I think this will be the last stay we will be able to manage at this SYHA. We will definitely miss this hostel.

Beautiful location, everything was clean and very welcoming stayed in the family room with our 3 children 7, 5 and 2. Lots to see and do on Arran.

Great place to stay and a lovely location really close to the Ferry terminal in Lochranza.
A welcome sight after a long day cycle touring my way back from the Islay Feis Ile music and malt festival.
Good clean hostel with a large Kitchen dining area.
Easy check in and pleasant staff too.
Plenty of space in the large lounge and dorms were clean and functional except for enough power points.
I found the lack of available power sockets or even a USB charging station a bit frustrating to charge my phone seeing that I was travelling like a lot of people "off grid"
Lack of places to hang clothes in the shower are was also a bit inconvenient leaving no alternative but to drape them over any object I could find rather than on a wet floor.
That said I would happily stay again without hesitation when I visit Arran again

Staying at this nice and clean hostel was one of the great memories while hiking the Arran Coastal Way. My friend fell into the river before we arrived and the host did everything to help out and get his boots dry. Also recommend a trip to the local distillery!

Great staff, super friendly and welcoming. Clean rooms and kitchen. Double room was really nice with a beautiful view.
