We stayed at this hostel on Friday and Saturday night with 3 other families. It's a great place, properly out of the way of everything in beautiful countryside with great views in every direction. It's also offers much more than you usual Youth Hostel.
The hostel is run by a very friend manager called Pete who also lives there. He's very conscientious and enthusiastic about the hostel and his guests. Not only does he run the hostel, but he also offers activities to take part in such as kayaking, paddle boarding and climbing. When I've visited other hostels, this hasn't been on offer so great that it is.
We catered for ourselves but the evening meals etc being prepared by the cook looked lovely. Something I'd consider when we visit next time.

Booked in here for 3 nights with activities included. The hostel itself is great and has a really homely feel to it, everybody we met there was friendly. The kitchen has all the facilities and equipment you need. Theres a wood burner fire also which was awesome. Pete who has taken over as the new manager is doing a fantastic job, very knowledgeable of the local area and helpful in general and great with the kids. He runs the daytime activities for groups, we went kayaking, climbing, caving and nearly absailing (kids thought it was too high). But he does pleanty more weather permitting. I would say it would be great for home ed groups to arrange a few days away with friends for some fun, my kids loved it. Cheers pete, keep up the good work.

Hidden in the great Brecon Beacons, this YHA was a welcoming place to relax and unwind after a days walking. Big kitchen for all to use, clean and tidy bedrooms, decent showers! Wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Only offers meals in summer time. The rest of the year you must bring all you need to cook.

Stayed here August 2019 for a four night activity break. Was absolutely fab, food, activities, and the hosts were 5 star, so good we are returning 2019 for a longer stay. Can't wait for our return visit!

Just what we wanted. Basic hostel has everything you would expect. 5 rooms with bunk beds. A group of 7 friends, we stayed for one night whilst walking the Beacons Way, booking the whole hostel on an 'exclusive hire' basis. Dinner, breakfast, packed lunch provided by Clare of Arc Adventures, who run the hostel - perfect.

We did the family multi-activity holiday run by Pete of Arc Adventures based at the YHA. The care and compassion shown by Peter and all the crew was amazing. We pushed ourselves to new limits on resevoirs, streams, rock faces and down caves.
But this break was not just about the activities - there was a collaborative spirit throughout, with a night walk and camp fire to make our days complete. It brought back happy memories staying in the YHA and we were treated to three cooked meals a day by Sian, starting with the full English which our 12 year old adored. Highly recommended.

My family and I have stayed at the YHA Llanddeusant 3 years in a row now. We just fell in love with it on our very first stay and have come back every year, we also have dates booked for a 4th year! The staff go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels welcome and included. The food cooked by Sian is all homemade and tastes amazing, especially after long days of fun activities with the YHA team. The views are breath taking. Thank you to Pete, Inga, Lewis, Sian, Clair and Henry for all the time and effort you have all put into our holidays with you guys. I cannot wait to be back!
