Holiday Inn Fareham - Solent

We had a great 2 day stay here, super friendly staff and lovely pool & spa which wasn't too crowded due to sensible booking system. Breakfast was excellent too with loads of variety. Rooms are a bit dated but clean & most importantly the bed was v comfortable, shower powerful & the room quiet so we all slept well. We'll be back!

Chap on reception very helpfull and welcoming. Rooms are very dated and need a refurb. Food served at dinner was good but service was poor as i had to leave the table and ask whether its table service or self service. When you looked for staff for anything you required at the table they simply looked over and then carried in with something else like they where too busy. Breakfast was good as you could just help yourself. I suggest doing the same for dinner not just for kids buffet if your understaffed or too busy. Pool was a good benefit to have. OK stay overall but not great.

Had a wonderful experience at this hotel with the family. Staff were really helpful and polite, facilities were generally clean and the swimming pool and health club was an added bonus considering they accommodated our request for use at really short notice. Continental breakfast had a good variety of options from hot and cold food with a nice open dining area and pleasant outdoor space. The only downside was that the rooms were slightly dated and the bathrooms could do with an uplift and modernising.

From the staff on the front desk who welcome you so warmly to the bar and restaurant staff who are so friendly what’s not to love.
The bar area is airy and plenty of seating areas. The quality of food is great and a decent variety on the menu.
The bedrooms are clean and the bed super comfortable.
Always plenty of hot water and the shower is amazing.
Plenty of free parking - provided you enter the car reg into the system at check in.

The room was very outdated, their were stains on the sofa bed and dining stool in the room. Stains on the shower curtain. Not very happy with the room, but the spa and swimming pool was amazing. Breakfast was very good, I think might have a problem with their dish washer, the plates and cutlery was not clean properly. Staff very helpful.

Please hotel for an overnight stay with children.

Central facilities and restaurant very good. Children eat free with adults at dinner made it good value, and there was a nice spread at breakfast.

The pool is decent.

Rooms were very clean, but some aspects were a little tired.

Children were given little activity packs on arrival, as well as a voucher for milk and a cookie from the bar. The voucher seemed to confuse the person on the bar, but he found some biscuits after a while.

Would happily stay again.

Staff welcoming. Hotel rather tired in appearance. Evening meal excellent quality - all 4 meals of the same standard. Had a good night's sleep and would return. Excellent position for all Southampton & Portsmouth attractions.

Nice hotel friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Only fault is food is expensive but it is nice. Lovely pool and spa facilities free for residents staying over. Open from 630 till 10pm. Avoid during 4 to 6pm as kids lessons in pool. Nice steam and sauna rooms plus jacuzzi. Rates are expensive but in line with usual hiked ihg hotels.
