Elan Valley Hotel

My family and I called in for an evening meal on our way home. The staff and owner were very friendly and the food was good. But most of all its a very dog friendly hotel. We will be stopping there again. Thank you.

Called in for an early evening beer after very long walk. Found a lovely fire to sit by and peruse the menu for dinner. Excellent food, friendly service, very reasonable beer prices. All in all, an enjoyable couple of hours spent here. Felt sorry for them when all the bookings cancelled for this weekend after Storm Ciara was announced! Best be safe though, not walking weather after we left! Hope to be back soon.

Never stayed at the hotel, but had meals here. Lovely place and the staff are soo nice, can't do enough for you! Will always return especially for the food 😊😊😊

The Elan Valley Hotel, situated between Rhayader and the Elan Valley visitor centre in mid Wales is a fine place to visit for a drink, with ample room for accommodation for a longer stay to explore this beautiful and feature full part of Wales. The Elan Valley is one of the most impressive examples of Victorian civil engineering with its series of resplendent dams that hold back vast reservoirs of water. The area is well worth a visit and this hotel provides a warm welcome in a relaxed and homely atmosphere.

Rachel and Lyn took over the Elan Valley Hotel 8 months ago and transformed it into a beautiful boutique experience. We only stayed one night, at the end of a motorcycle touring holiday to Ireland, and it was the best nights sleep we had. Rachel's breakfast in the morning was exceptional; fabulous produce, expertly prepared. The hotel is decorated with great design flair and the couples' eye for detail is obvious. Rachel and Lyn are also lovely, open and welcoming... we certainly felt gathered into a ginourmous Welsh cwtch : ) Thank you for a lovely last night of our holiday!

Gorgeous place in a lovely setting. Great food and an Afternoon Tea that would shame the best of hotels worldwide. A little jewel in the heart of Wales.

Rachel and her lovely husband were amazing hosts and couldn’t be more accommodating. My partner and I had a lovely few days last weekend.
Our room was cosy and modern and no details had been missed.
Judging that the new owners have been in the property for less than a year, they have done it up remarkably well. The decor was stunning and made you feel at home!
There’s no doubt that we will be returning, and I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone stopping near Rhayader.
