Almost 10 years ago when I first visited whiteleys it was already in decline but fast forward now 2017 it's almost like a ghost shopping centre. I think 80% of space is empty and I heard rumours it will be transformed into luxury apartments who knows but anything will be better than a ghost mall.

I love here. And I will miss here since it's closing down.. This is the very last months of the shops here. Don't know what's going on next but currently the shops here are super sales.

Apparently very good mall, the aesthetical structure is fine. It has four floors, a scenic stair in the middle and a high and impressive dome. Probably all was built to keep the people attention but something went wrong. The mall looks like almost a ghost place. Very few people Inside, very few shops open and working. Actually this place is almost empty. It's a pity the place has a great potential, the location is good in the middle of a crowded residential area. It's a mystery for me to see this area not working. I gave 3 stars for the aesthetic, if you a real shopping mall go elsewhere.

Whitelys, Whitelys what can we say? It's large, impressive and Class 2 Listed.
And semi vacant too these days. Most retailers have departed leaving a shell interior.
But what a place. A place to wander on a Sunday afternoon. Marks&Spencer may have left the scene but you can straddle the balcony, look upwards and admire the circular glass roof. Gaze down and view the pedestrians and co take their time. Maybe take some photographs. Odeon have a cinema on top if you get that far. Some eateries and there are cloths shops like Gap and Zara, coffee too. Take a look sometime soon.

Whiteleys is a beautifully designed shopping center located between Bayswater and Notting Hill with large hallways, swirling staircases and a large dome filling the space with light. It has been built in the retail space of the former William Whiteley Limited department store, and opened in 1911 as London's first department store.

However Whiteleys is in decline as a large amount of the retail space an shops are empty. The first floor features a combination of Kurt Geiger, ZARA fashion discount stores and hairdressers as well as a Marks & Spencers. The second floor features an H&M, Body Shop, Nine West, Sports Direct and Gap. The food options are limited to a Pizza Express, Costa Coffee and a few independent food stands. The Odeon Lounge and All Star Lanes are the constants that attract the crowds. The shopping centre is open from 8.30AM to midnight, the stores are open from 10AM to 8PM.

Whiteleys is no longer a shopping destination with ample selection like Westfield but a convinient location for locals, movie goers and bowling enthusiasts looking for a non crowded spacious space.

This was a great place back in its day. It was a good shopping mall.
Beautiful building.
The cinema was great.
It is no longer a shopping center.
It is now being transformed into luxury apartments at stupid prices.

The shopping center was better!!!!

used to work here when i was a student, sad to see the dome is being demolished. hope the new project will regenerate enough money to keep the building.
