Shepherds Parlour

Nice coffee and decent selection of ice-cream flavours. Very friendly staff are happy to let you sample their wares if unsure. You can sit inside or outside on the fork between two roads to enjoy your caffeinated and sugary treats!

I had heard many great things about Shepherds and there magical ice cream. I personally had blackcurrant and mint chocolate chip. The mint choc chip was nice and refreshing but lacking deep flavour and felt the same for the blackcurrant. My partner had the coffee with caramel and honeycomb, again very good but lacking the deep flavour, you would expect a strong coffee flavour but personally I didn't get that. Great cafe as a whole with lovely staff and amazing coffee. Maybe could do with a slightly bigger premises now as it was quite difficult to que as loads of teenagers were just standing in everyone else's way

My mango smoothy was so refreshing. Cool interior in this heat. Highly recommended the apple cake... We went back for seconds!

Lovely little café in the centre of Hay. Their crepes, ice creams and toasties are delicious. They have an excellent selection of vegetarian and vegan options, which you don't see very often in small cafés. Dropped a star only as it is quiet pricey.

Lovely building and central in the town. Went for a crepe and coffee, both excellent. Staff very friendly. Would recommend if visiting Hay-on-Wye

We had a bit of a wait in the queue outside but this is due to Covid restrictions, so fair enough. My partner had a coconut 🥥 & lime fruit ice cream which she said was very nice.
I had a chocolate ice cream which was nice, but not quite up with the best I’ve had.
Overall a good experience so would recommend.
