The standard of food is very poor. The service was poor. We arrived at 8:30pm and it seemed like they didn't want the customers. I wouldn't normally give a poor review, but when we argued over the quality of food they were not interested.

They charge a service charge which was 9. Which put our bill over 100. The bill came to 102.50. we rounded down, to 100, even though we were very disappointed in the quality of food. They argued saying the menu was 20 years old and the prices have not changed, hence the customer gets charged a service charge.

The food is like a microwave meal heated up. The food came with what I can only describe as a film over the top. Don't waste your money here, try the one over the bridge.

Hopefully the 2.50 we asked back will cost this company more. No way should this business run like this.

I have always found their Hyderabadi Ghosht Biriyani very flavoursome. May be the best I have tried in UK so far. However service takes lot of time. Not only food to table, but providing bill, collecting money, giving balance. Carry some cash with you while visiting this place as sometimes their card machine malfunction and there are no ATMs nearby.

I eat here a lot due to work
Not tried loads on the menu but the stuff I have had is always very good

The Madras is very very good!
Starters decent- Tikka paste on the meats has good spice and flavour

Setting isn't the most premium but the food isn't ridiculously priced
Very typical bar menu for an Indian restaurant

I eat mainly during the week and it's quiet. The staff are lovely and food and service is quick

Good Indian food, you can expect almost similar test like India. I feel it's little costly but in this area this one is good for good Indian food.
You can try Mashroom Pakoda which was good. Apart from that all Paneer item where good.
We ordered total 3 food items Pakoda, Pannir Sabzi and Naan which was enough for two. It cost use 17 pounds. You can enjoy good food with good ambience.

Had an excellent meal here a week or two back. Restaurant was very quiet (it was a Sunday night), but the food was great. Best curry we've had in a long time. Atmosphere was quiet, but the food is the important bit. Will definitely stay at the Boleyn again just so we can eat at the Saffron.

Stayed at The hotel and decided to try the Saffron. The place lacks some atmosphere but the food was excellent and good value. Would recommend.

Staying in the adjoining hotel and decided to try the restaurant. It did not disappoint. The food was absolutely beautiful and some of the best Indian cuisine that we have eaten! Good portion size and reasonable prices! Fully recommend!

Ordered the lamb madras with pilau rice, saag Bhaji and ‘tandoori chapatti’
Spinach bhaji looked like a bowl of poo
The chatting never saw a tandoori and the lamb made me throw up 5 minutes after leaving the place.
Saffron needs to try A LOT HARDER
