Coalbeck Caravan Park

Liked: Fantastic location and lovely site. Good size pitches and great little facilities house with free hot shower and individual toilet stalls for each pitch. Well thought out sluice for black water and everything to hand to make tour stay easy and enjoyable. Sid was a great host and gave some good tips for walks with the dogs. There is a hotel next door to end the day with a fantastic view of the lake and a quiet relaxing drink or bite to eat. We will definitely be back! Thanks Sid!

Liked: sid is such a nice and helpful man and his site is so well kept and a pleasure to visit. our first ever camping trip and we arrived without a water hose - sid to the rescue! right next to our pitch was an empty field he let us use to let the dog off lead (don't know if that is always available but it was great for them). also don't know if the tractor was sent to clear it for us or if he was doing it anyway but thanks for that!

it is very quiet though so if you like that it's perfect. camping is new to us so it suited us to try it out with our 2 young dogs. next we'll try somewhere with a little more action but we don't actually know what we like yet.....maybe a bit of both?

we drove in to keswick which was lovely and there's a fab hotel in the grounds next door that is lovely even just to walk through with the dogs (and get some nice pics).

if it's about cleanliness and peace & quiet then this is your place and sid is your man!

Disliked: nothing really. i liked everything just that there was literally nobody else there except one other family who were also good. just saying this so the next person is prepared. don't know if quiet is the word but i'm sure it's absolute heaven for some.

Liked: Fantastic place, toilets and showers immaculate cleanest I’ve ever seen. Sid & Elizebeth were great hosts, and super friendly giving us lots of pointers of good dog walks and places to eat. Nice level pitches. Loved waking up each morning to the sound of the gibbon, we will miss him (The site is next to a wildlife park). Will definitely be visiting again next year as a stop on the way to Scotland.

Disliked: Flies, quite a few flies but the weather was very hot and with so many animals next door kind of attracted them.

Liked: The Welcome and friendly host Sid, who keeps the site and facilities immaculatly clean, its a very quiet site and the idea of allocating a toilet cubicle for each pitch is a bonus. The Shower is powerful and plenty of hot water.

Disliked: Not a big problem as site is not that busy but only one wash basin in the toilet block and only one shower.

Liked: This is a gem of a place, lovely owner, quiet site and easy to find. The facilities are clean and it is great to have a designated toilet. One shower but never had to wait. The site is well located and we loved hearing the nearby gibbons. Also it makes a change for a campsite to actually have good wifi, so that was a bonus! Honestly couldn't rate this place enough, we shall definitely be back. Thank you Sid!

Liked: super friendly staff, who welcomed us as we arrived and have a nice chat about the area
facilities were immaculate, with each pitch having their own toilet! brilliant idea.
location was easy to find and close to the wildlife park, which we had a venture to, around 5 minute walk from the site.

We’ve just returned from 6 nights at Coalbeck. Lovely quiet site, all you can hear are birds and the beck which passes by the site. Amenities were spotless! Cleaned every day. Shower hot and powerful which is what you need when the weathers a bit chilly.
Beautiful views all round.
Great walks. Walked past the lake to the train for lunch which was incredible!
Spent a day at the wildlife park which we throughly enjoyed.
The main reason we’d return is Sid! What a character, we had many a laugh with him. Lovely helpful man, nothing was too much trouble, thanks Sid and see you again sometime next year

Liked: Very accommodating, we were arriving late so received helpful instructions. There are designated toilets for each pitch- amazing Heated shower room & toilet block, radiator in shower room was fantastic, very helpful owner as I had some issues with my van, lovely view & nice short walk in a field behind for my puppy. Fab little walk down to the lake too. 100% recommend.

Disliked: Nothing!
