Lovely accommodation, clean, comfortable and friendly. Wonderful breakfast with a great choice. Derek made us welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Very enjoyable mini break.

Loved every minute of our stay. Derek and Jane made us very welcome. There's a great choice for breakfast and our room was very comfortable. We will definitely stay at Smithy Lodge again.

Excellent place to stay very clean and good breakfast. Nice bathroom and separate shower room downstairs with disabled equipment. Nice garden to sit in. All very well presented. Welcoming and helpful staff. Also the owners kit cars in the rear car park. Recommended.

Derek was a fantastic host and made us feel at home from the moment we stepped foot in the door. Beautiful little place to stay 😄 that good we extended for a extra night. Little dated but definitely gives the place its quirkiness. Loved our stay and will most certainly be back. Keep doing what you do Derek ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This place is amazing. Great wee garden and outside place to sit. Pub just down the road was also brill. Derek is such a lovely guy, and made us feel very welcome. We will 100% book again. Thank you Derek 🙂

Beautiful place, very clean and nice. The rooms are very nice decorated. Perfect for resting and getting away from everyday life. Delicious breakfasts. The owner is passionate about monuments and a very nice man. I'll be back tk here. I recommend this place, it is pure pleasure to rest there.

derek and jane created an uncomfortable atmosphere, not very homey or friendly. on one occasion jane told us to take our time and be out by 12, and then knocked on our door at 10 and told us she will be charging us for a whole other day for not being out by 10. as soon as i stepped into the door wearing a mask she also spurted anti-masker remarks at me about how the masks would 'kill me.' the actual rooms, and outside area was beautiful but the owners definitely dampened the whole experience. after a person from my group accidentally spilled some tobacco on the floor (a maximum 2 minuite hoover job?) the entire group was left passive aggressive voicemails, calling us a 'gang' and saying that our 'manager won't be happy' when he tells him? very strange. we would have been happy to clean anything if we would have been notified of the problem. we weren't. this was also followed by accusations that 2 members from our party had not payed for their rooms, (they had payed cash in full and upfront). as a group we were charged over £200 extra for a 'cleanup operation.' I feel we were taken advantage of because of our age. I would strongly advise to avoid.
