A proper unpretentious pub. No frills , just sit down and enjoy relaxed atmosphere. Vague feeling some of the chairs have been upholstered since I last visited 8 years ago but you wouldn't really notice. Nice seating down alley to side.

Care in the community have rated this the best pub in the northern hemisphere. If you want a quiet night out with an intimate atmosphere and a discussion of the finer points of extententionalism then this is not the place you need. However if you prefer good beer, beautiful barmaids, and people who really really really dont give a monkeys if we leave the eu or not this is the place for you.

Really friendly little pub with lovely open fire and nice beer and reasonable prices. we were running late so just had a pint and a small glass of red wine with quick bite to eat. Everyone was very welcoming especially the dogs, will go back again thanks

Great little pub serving good beer and fabulous food. There's always a fabulous atmosphere here, always someone willing to chat, everyone is welcomed by friendly staff and regulars.

Very friendly staff and clientele lovely pint Of HB bitter. A little gem. Has a lovely atmosphere and has a great selection of beers and ciders.

A classic, friendly pub with a great selection of real ale. I had a pint of Jemima Pitchfork which was much appreciated.
