A-Plan Insurance

First took out insurance with Aplan when I first passed my driving test as a nervous young driver they sold it to me as if they'd be there and make the service quick an easy should anything happen.
Had been with Aplan for 4 years.
I had a bump In march which I went in to tell them about. And ever since that date ( it is now September) I have had to ring them month after month to find out what is happening with my claim. I've had no letters no emails.
When I first went in I spoke to a John who told me I'd have to pay £400 excess for my claim ( I did explain I wasn't claiming for my own damage as it was just a scratch) to then be told,when I HAD to ring them up 6 months later and found out it was settled that I didn't have to pay any excess and he was wrong, no apology may I add ( I know this is a bonus but I worried about that money and how I was going to pay it for ongoing months) Ive gone in and rang up multiple times in the months of August and September to always be told someone will ring me back they can never quite give you a straight answer and that to me doesn't seem "easier than going with a direct insurer"
Finally the prices.
This bump is actually a blessing, as if I didn't have this bump and lost my 4 years no claims I wouldn't have shopped elsewhere.
This is the most important thing people keep your ears peeled.
IM PAYING LESS NOW WITH 1 YEARS NCB THEN APLAN QUOTED ME WITH 4 YEARS NO CLAIMS BONUS.
Had so many problems with this company and once I'd left they just didn't bother to contact me regarding my ongoing claim and sounded the most uninterested when I called up.
Lost a loyal customer and seriously lack communication skills between one another.
If you're looking for convinence with insurance and you've found yourself looking at Aplan, just keep looking.

Services normally very good however one untrained staff member seemed to be selling products I did not wish to want on renewal and was unpleasant experience when refused hence one star I hope on my annual renewal will have a 5 star rating

Update : yet again one year on more unethical practices and debt collector corporate attitude as far as the Worcester manager comments are considered stop cover up your unethical behaviour it’s a boiler room operation.

Always find A Plan a pleasure to deal with. It doesn't matter who you get on the phone, everyone is happy to help and answer any questions. I find that their service takes a weight off my mind and I've always been pleased with the insurance products they have sought out for me. Would highly recommend.

I have all my insurances with A-plan including our classic vehicles, brilliant staff and great service, can't knock them.
