Told me my renewal was going up on my van insurance due to rise in interest rate. Then got a quote from direct line which was over £200 cheaper! Then when I try to cancel the renewal they can't. I have had text messages and three phone calls asking me to renew. Each time I tell them they act like its the first time. Utter amateurs!

I would give 0 stars if I could. I have been trying to make a claim on tools that were stolen from my van. I took out van insurance and tool insurance with Brightside. However, I am unable to claim for the tools with Brightside. They continually transfer me to Coplus who the policy for the van is with, but I need to speak to Direct Group who the tool insurance is with. The number for Direct Group just puts you on hold and then eventually hangs up. They don't have a website and there doesn't seem to be another way to get in touch with them. So what are you meant to do? Brightside won't help at all even though I took out the policy with them. Why do they use Direct Group if customers are unable to claim with them? This is the worst customer service I have ever had. I have requested a call back from Brightside but they said no, reason being 'if we don't call you when we say you will leave a bad review.' Well here it is.

Totally agree with others who have used this outfit. I have been insured for 4 months paid bang on time. Received an email (which you can't reply to) asking me to forward my driver's license copy, I did and now my insurance is been cancelled saying the details didn't match when I started my insurance. I am British with a Spanish license, I paid well over the odds for this insurance and thought that was the reason. I will be reporting this to the insurance ombudsman !!!

Terrible service, had an accident no fault of mine, brightside failed to register claim correctly chased after 2 weeks to be told no claim registered and dispite sending videos and image's of the accident they could not find any details. They said there was no damage to my vehicle. When I registered the claim they gave me a claim no. but still were unable to find it 2weeks later. Steer well clear of this company

Total rip off. Their services are very bad and very unhelpful. I don't understand why such companies still exist. I gave one star because there's no other way to give negative star. Such a company should be dissolved

Watch out for their sneaky auto renewal.

Won’t accept fault and that it’s a disgusting policy.

Will take out finance on your behalf for your insurance regardless of having no authority to do so.

Use sub standard insurance providers who fail to pay out in a timely fashion. (Not just on one, but 2 separate policies)

Avoid, go somewhere else.

Worst company I’ve ever used ,can’t get through on the phone ,insured my bmw through them then after 5 months changed my vehicle to a Mercedes ,new quote went up by over £500 so I cancelled my policy then was asked for a settlement of £180.I’ve asked for a breakdown on the figures but never got them. Got insurance from HASTINGS DIRECT For £425 (12month policy)

Stay away from them 10 months later asking for money back after sending me money back as a over payment, nobody knows who or why Brightside blame close brothers and vice verca and the collection bureau don't care they just keep demanding payment. if you try to cancel policy they want hundreds not tens of pounds?
