I used this company for car hire excess insurance.
My claim for a 1000euro damage is proving to be a long (4+ months) and tediously drawn out process (numerous calls, emails) with them. Applying and taking payment was seamless though. I will definitely not use this company again.

Update following reply from Questor:
I requested your claims handler (Orchard Administration) to obtain the repair bill on my behalf 5 weeks ago. Please can you clarify for the benefit of me and your future clients:
1. If the rental company, in this case Budget/Avis, does not provide the garage repair bill, will Questor estimate what a fair and reasonable cost of repair would be, and award the claim on that basis?
2. what period of time do you allow the rental company to provide the repair bill before assessing the claim by other means?

When I asked these questions over the phone to your customer services, the unhelpful responses I got back were:
1. It's in the small print as a condition

I have used Questor for several years and always found them to be massively more competetive than taking the rental company's option (especially the annual policy). This year I needed to make a small claim for 'alleged' tyre damage and Questor staff responded swiftly and settled the claim promptly. I have recommended them to family and friends who have all had similar experiences.

I have been more than sceptical with purchasing full cover from Questor as I had a few bad experiences in the past with a few other car and health insurance companies. Thus, when I scratched a rental car in Italy I thought “ok, this is it, I am in trouble”. However, despite my concerns, after having provided all the documents that were needed the refund has reached my account in 5 days. Very impressive, Great job. I have recommended Questor to all of my friends who are attending my wedding in Italy this June.

Absolute ripoff.
If you make a claim, they pass it on to a firm called Orchard and they make it as difficult as possible not to let you proceed to make the claim to their satisfaction.
They ask question after question until they find a question or require a form that you cannot produce.
They will NOT liase with any rental car company so the questions they ask are sometimes so technical that even the rental car company cannot help you.
Cost me £38 for a year so what did I expect, really!
Fool me once, shame on you!

The proof of any insurance is always about how they behave when you make a claim (rather than how easily and quickly they sign you up). I have had excess car hire insurance with Questor for over two years.
On a recent trip to Italy, I scraped the underside front bumper of our minibus. Questor (through Orchard's admin) needed a formal invoice from the rental company but have paid out in full with no fuss.

I have been with them for 2 years now. They always offered me a great affordable service, I unfortunately had to claim once after using Green Motion to hire a car (A now recognised fraudulent excess company). The service was quick and covered everything that I was charged. I highly recommend them

System was easy to use to upload the information, they were very clear on what information was required, and once i uploaded the final repair invoice the money was paid within a couple of days. Fantastic, will use everytime now.

I should state from the start that my claim was settled. However, it was an awkward process. Whenever I take out insurance, I normally check what I am covered for and not the minutae of the Ts&C and claim process. Be aware that the company requires all the usual documentation along with either a repair invoice or a matrix of charges from the Car Hire company. Not an easy thing to do once you return home.
