Nice place, with a decent selection of drinks including local beers. Plenty of space, and the service is quick and friendly. The chairs are comfortable which I hugely appreciated after a day of walking! They also have a log burner inside, and WiFi for customers. There’s a large outdoor seating area too, which I can imagine is nice in the summer.

Had a beer and a cocktail after a local walk. Staff were super friendly, enthusiastic and attentive. Full markets for service. Local brew lager was excellent and the martini made with local hurt berry liquor was unique and very agreeable. It was early evening mid week so not busy. Nice areas to sit inside and out. It’s a gastro pub but a very acceptable place for a drink. Menu looked interesting as regards Italian pizza and pasta. Will return to eat. Thank you for a very nice time.

After a smashing ride in the hills it is hard to beat a cooling pint afterwards. Always a treat popping in here.

I really like the location of this pub, it’s so close to one of my favourite biking spots and this makes what I’m about to say really painful.

I love their beer selection, always have a tasty tipple for me to get stuck into after a good biking session. I had the Firebird Citra for the first time this day and I enjoyed it a lot.

The staff are friendly and willing to help, which is all positive and encouraging.

The food hasn’t been amazing the last couple of years though, I thought this time it would be different, but I was sadly a little dissatisfied and disappointed. I got a sausage and onion baguette and to be fair that is exactly what I got. But…

For £10 I would expect what I got to come with Chips and sadly it didn’t, we had to order chips for an extra £7 admittedly we went for the cheesy chips, but I’m fairly certain the standard ones were a fiver.

Then the second nail in the coffin was the Half pint of Diet Coke I got, this was £3!! For a half pint of soda stream Diet Coke… that’s a lot by anyone’s standards especially round here.

It feels they are slightly taking advantage of the fact that lots of bikers come here and expect they have lots of money, but this is a country pub yet they are charging London prices for some things.

I hope my next experience is more positive, but I can’t help but be honest.

My mates Steak Baguette did look better, and was only 50p more, but chips included even just a small portion would go a long way.

The pub is well presented. Lots of space yet homely. Such a lovely location.

We were in a group of 14 on a Sunday lunch time and had sent through our food orders in advance. Some of our party were a little late but we were seated without them.

Drink orders were brought over relatively quickly and food came out all together which is always a challenge for such a large group.

Very generous portion sizes but good quality too. My roast was lovely, however the potatoes were wedge style rather than roasts which was a little disappointing.

Amazing staff! G, H, L, P, E, and D thank you for everything! Great food and atmosphere and perfect dog friendly accommodation in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Stayed regularly with my Labrador whilst on secondment working in Guildford. I will be back!

Booked a table for a family meal nearly two months in advance. Upon arrival we were told that our booking wasn't in their ledger. We were then told we were to sit in the room with the band playing. Walked in and our server's mouth seemed to move but the noise of the band made certain not a single thing could ever have been heard. We are expected to eat and talk as a family in this racket? As much as I love dining to dire straits at ear splitting volume we think this was disgraceful. We made our thoughts known to the manager (owner?) and were told to leave. Not a word of apology. If their sarcy manager would care to offer an impotent word of response to this review I'd just like him to know I won't in a lifetime ever consider taking into my conscious another phrase of his bile. Vile establishment.
