We ordered the whitebait and the meatballs to start, and the duck in port and prune with chips, spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread
As you can see, the portion sizes were generous. All dishes were delicious and freshly cooked
The waiter was very attentive and welcoming
Will return here again soon
Definitely recommend.
The massive downfall is they charged me for their set menu - I didn't get a starter or a main from it. I ordered garlic bread with cheese priced at £4.95. I was charged £27.95 meaning i paid a whopping £23 for tomato pasta. I queried this at the table and was met with "it's Christmas it's a set menu". Not if you look at the menu you will see the garlic breads are a side.
This also happened to some of my other colleagues who had basic food (eg pesto pasta) yet other colleagues who had the manzo and lamb shanks were charged less?
I have had the pleasure of eating in Michelin star restaurants and even their basic pasta dishes have been priced considerably less than Gallinis.
My colleagues and I went to a couple of other places following Gallinis and they were all absolutely bunged with people. Gallinis had more staff than tables - coincidence? I think not.
It's disgusting that Gallinis are essentially ripping people off especially those who are trying to support local businesses this time of year. It's a shame because I enjoyed my pasta but I know myself and other colleagues will not be revisiting Gallinis because of their attitudes at the table when paying and the blatant money grabbing they demonstrated. Disappointed.
