Wentloog Boarding Kennels and Cattery

WARNING STAY AWAY FROM THIS KENNELS I would give a zero rating if it would let me.

Absolutely discussed with the condition my sister-in-law picked her 7 month old up today. Trembling, scared stiff and bogging. Also has left there with cherry eye. Before the dog was collected the kennels tried booking her in to have the operation (without the owners consent and we know this because the vets phoned to check it was ok) She is now safe back home but had to be bathed 3 times to get all the dirt off her (she is a tiny dog, so this tells you how dirty she actually was) They need closing down 😡😡😡.

We used a different kennel at the same time and my 4 didn't want to leave they love it there that much. They have their daily walks, loads of cuddles and they were bathed before we collected them.

Left my 4 chihuahuas over Christmas and new year. Picked them up today. When I got there they were out on a walk so had to wait a short while. But staff kept me chatting about them, explained they were nervous at first but came around to the point they were happy to jump all over them after trust was gained. One lady seemed to have a soft spot for chihuahuas. She has them herself. Asked to see where they were kept and was no issue even though it wasnt planned. For small dogs they had loads of space and a heated lamp over there beds. Beds are plastic with fluffy blankets in them. Seemed quite full for this time of year and all other dogs seemed happy especially the big giant one that was in the next building. My fur babies were kept in a small brick building with other small dogs sknot wasnt to noisy for them. Would recommend this kennels.

My cocker spaniel has been here 4 times and is always treated well.
Update as of May 2019 my Cocker spaniel has been here 6 times now as had 2 short holidays over the winter period. The kennels are out of the way so nice and peaceful for the animals and Ollie is always looked after really well.

I left my cat here for a period of five days, it was the worst decision I have ever made . Our cat is a long haired cat and we specifically asked to have her brushed every single day to avoid knotting, we also provided her own food so she could be fed properly without issues whilst away. We were assured all of our requests would be met. On our return to the cattery we could see that the food in the bowl was not the food we had provided, however ALL pouches we had given had been removed from the bag. When we got our cat back we could see she was a mess, she smelt of cigarettes...which is vile, why the hell would you smoke in a enclosed room full of animals! she was covered in litter tray pebbles, and her fur had clearly not been brushed properly at all. She has huge Matt's all along one side, on her back and even one on her face! I am disgusted. I will never use this cattery again, and I urge you all to think carefully about where you choose. Awful.

My mum and sister picked my miniature daschund up today after 2 weeks boarding. He came out, stinking of urine and all sticky and both of his ears were really red inside, he has an ear infection in both ears which he didn't have when I dropped him off. He's come home and just led asleep on the sofa which he doesn't do normally, he's very active and wants to play constantly. The staff said that he was naughty and kept trying to go for them when they wanted to get him out which is basically telling me they haven't walked him for 2 weeks. When dropping him off I told them to show him a ball and throw it for him and he will be your best friend. Would not kennel him here again and wouldn't recommend to anyone!!!

I was a little concerned leaving my dog on one of the hottest weeks of the year, but we returned to find she was very healthy, a good weight, and happy. She was well exercised and made a big fuss of the staff

My 13 year old staffy has been here twice in the past 3 months while me my partner went away and both times she has come out the same as she went in. No complaints. The 2nd time it was almost as if she didn't want to leave. Not normally friendly with other people but she was jumping all over the man that went to collect her. Will 100% be using again next year'

Gone over and above when we were delayed picking up animal due to extenuating circumstances didn't even charge us. Small family run type vibe. Regular customers now.
