Took my beloved Sekonda watch to them to change battery. Watch was in excellent condition - never dropped or damaged or anything, always looked after. They were unable to get the back on again after changing the battery, so they said they'd keep it overnight - went the following day - said they got the back on but watch didn't work. At that point they tried to hand it back, but another customer pointed out, what's that on the ground? It was the back of the watch fallen off! They said they weren't sure what was going on, would send it off somewhere and would call when it came back in. A week later, no call - I went down - it was there, the owner (I believe) handed it back to me, told me it wouldn't work - that it was obviously broken when I'd taken it in. I said no, it wasn't, it had only needed a new battery - HE SHOUTED AT ME AND TOLD ME TO PROVE IT THAT IT WASN'T BROKEN WHEN I TOOK IT IN - HE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, and as soon as I got it home, THE BACK FELL OFF AGAIN! It is completely destroyed - I don't know WHAT they did - and it's not even that they broke it, it's that the owner (Steve I think) - WAS SO HORRIBLE AND RUDE! HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN APOLOGETIC, but who shouts at a customer after THEY"VE broken the watch, and never even called to say it was waiting! DISGRACEFUL!

The guy behind the counter needs some training in customer service and tone done his sarcasm. I was enquiring about fitting rubber sole on my shoes, he threw some material at me saying "there's the sole" and then turned around to serve another customer. The rudest member of staff I've ever dealt with!

They changed the soles of my Doc Martens. Haven't used the shoes yet and the "glue" has completely come off and the soles have fallen off. Can't find my receipt. Paid £60 for this. Ps. I went back to them after I wrote this review, and they fixed it, no questions asked. Giving them a couple more stars for it.

Asked for a stainless steel watch strap pin to be replaced. They inserted one that was brass, different to the others in its mechanism and too big so didn't go all the way in and therefore damaged the link. Effectively they had wedeged it in with a hammer.

When I discovered this and pointed out the difference in colour, size and mechanism the response was baffling. "Nah mate it's fine, that's the standard blah blah blah. I bet you a million pounds that this is the same at any other shop." I asked them to remove it and went to Timpson who were massively more attentive, half the price and did it in front of me in 10 min vs the 1.5hrs I was asked to wait.

Extremely rude and ruined a very expensive pen with some horrific engraving. Then the guy tried to blame me for asking them to do it. I asked if they could do it, they said yes so i assumed they could and trusted them to do so. They completely ruined a Cartier pen. Read the reviews and avoid at all costs.

In response, it was 100% this shop. You offered me a partial refund of the engraving costs! This was several months ago. My previous review mysteriously vanished.
