Delivery men damaged our floors and wren took no responsibility for it, hiding behind a technicality.
The only saving grace was their installer who did what he could to rectify the situation.
While on-site, I was told that the units would be able to go all the way to the ceiling, yet once on site, the installer was quick to point out that wouldn't be possible. He was able to rectify this, but only after ordering more parts.
The two original panels to be used as the countertops arrived damaged and rather than wait the incredibly long time required for re-delivery, our installer was able to offer us a far more suitable alternative.
We were having an office built rather than a kitchen and all seemed great until the salesmen never made the changes to the height of the countertops that I requested. I foolishly thought I could trust him. Not the case, as our "desks" are now too high. Luckily, the installer was able to build sliding keyboard trays for us as a custom extra.
The delivery men did serious damage to our hard wood floors, and because wren sent an e-mail telling us to protect our floors, they are apparently not responsible for the nearly £2,500 worth of damage they did. I understand that the e-mail asked us to "protect" our floors, but there is a limit to what we could have done.
Will never use them again and would highly recommend you don't either.
- the measuring was rushed (as though they didn’t think I would be actually purchasing) and this caused problems later (the fitter had to trim some cupboards)
- the kitchen designer (Ruhi) was excellent, didn’t push and understood budget-constraints etc. She was helpful, but….
- when there was a problem with the size of the appliance doors I was told it was my fault as I had ‘approved’ the plans. Now I’m not an expert at reading technical blueprint-style designs and I had explicitly given them the height of my appliances…. Yet I had to pay for new doors.
- the computer design system seemed to add a lot of extra bits - I had significant left over side-panels and worktop. So that was probably £500 a better system could have avoided.
- the quality of the cupboards etc was good
- they didn’t deliver all the right parts so I had to message Wrens. However, unlike the experience of some reviewers, I found Wrens Acton to be very prompt and helpful in getting the missing parts sent to me quickly. So I thought the post-purchase customer service was good.
The design team member who assisted me with my purchase was Ruhi Shah. Ruhi was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, A great communicator and had extensive product knowledge which really helped me select the right kitchen choices without any doubts. I left the shop knowing when to expect my delivery, who to contact for any issues and on going regular updates for any delays to keep me in the loop and this really helped as I managed to provide this info to my builder in order for him to provide me with a realistic end date for the job. I have no hesitation of recording Wren Kitchen to anyone.
Very poor communication - installer turned up at 9pm at night, or without notice.
Very poor communication from company - delays and lack of delivery. No clear details - much of the installation I found out I had to pay privately for.
Kitchen took from 20th July to 5th October for partial installation.. I ended up paying privately for taps to be installed.
Post installation (3 months) - bad (they aren't interested).
Ordering new and replacing damaged items is acceptable but always a long wait on the phone (the app for ordering replacements is terrible).
Post installation (3 months), I called to purchase another storage solution (drawer for bin unit & lids for bins). After 40 minute wait on the phone, the line dropped out.
On getting through a second time, I was told the part I wanted was availible, but somehow was only availible with the initial order which was 'greyed out'. So it wasn't availible to order.... Simply, that was the end of it and I couldn't purchase a part which they sold.
This should have been an easy purchase, which... I didn't expect for free.
Overall, I'm quite disappointed in the aftercare and lack of grip for post purchase. Taking into account how competitive this market is, I wouldn't recommend this company. The 'all in service' presented simply isn't there once they have taken payment.
We had to change the first sales representative because he never answered calls or returned emails. He also ordered 20 sq meters of flooring randomly to my house which they dumped in our hallway and left the pallet in the middle of the street (5 days before it was removed). We then changed installers and paid for the kitchen. Someone came around to look at the kitchen who was the installer.
we had the delivery the day before our due date so one of bedrooms is full of stuff, we now have our living room full of kitchen things. No installer arrives Monday, calls at 11am to say he has broken down. Tuesday morning someone turns up who was not the original contractor, takes one look and says i am not doing this walks out and drives off. My kitchen is very small but on the 1st floor which seemed to be the issue (even though everyone knew it was there).
Called up wren to say the original contractor now wont do it as he has hurt his back. So wren say they can get someone to do a dry fit even though i bought plumbing and gas fit in 3 to 4 days time. Even better the new contractor wont do the work unless i remove all the kitchen before they arrive. I have asked someone to come and collect my kitchen and offer me a full refund but apparently that is not in the contract!
Currently have a spare kitchen and my bedroom, living out the living room and no kitchen. The guy in the show room said it would be a 1 week job, fitter said 2.5 weeks, they just lie to you to get you to pay.
What ever you do, don't be tempted to use this company. they are crooks.
