American Dry Cleaning Company

Yolanda and Ana are lovely! I brought in a top to be dry-cleaned that I had previously taken to another dry cleaner (got overly excited about some ramen noodles and spilled fatty broth over it) with no success, and the ladies got the fat stains out with no problem! There's a nice annual membership option that gives you 10% discounts on services for a year and is quite cost-effective if you use laundry services on a monthly basis. Also used the tailoring service for some tulle curtains - Ana did a great job!

Yolanda is lovely but American Dry Cleaning is a dreadful company. I gave them a high quality duvet in perfect shape and they literally destroyed it: the duvet came back lumpy. When speaking with the customer service I understood it was not the first time. Because the duvet was more than 5 years old they refused to compensate me. They agreed at first to grant me a £70 credit to spend in their shops but they told me they would have to keep what was left of the duvet, therefore preventing me from trying to possibly get it fixed by a more qualified company. I eventually chose to get it back and only got £35 credit, i.e what I had paid to have my duvet destroyed by them. Don't use this company and certainly not for your duvets, they don't know how to handle them!

This is by far the best dry cleaner I've found in the area. They really take care of my clothes and get out stains with ease. The turn around time is usually quick too and I have tendency to bring in a lot of clothes at once. Haven't gone anywhere else since I found American almost 2 years ago!

Absolutely a pleasant experience dealing with this dry cleaner. Franklin took the time to explain how they treat and care for my clothes . I got the feeling of not just being another number in the queue. The membership club is genius not only for the discount but also so I can use any of their shops. I really valued as well that the shop was tidy and clean. If it was the opposite how can you expect to have clean clothes back :) Even took a photo LoL

They have managed to successively shrink a beautiful expensive silk jumpsuit I had and lost some pillowcases. Worse part is that I am still waiting to hear 1 month later what will happen for my jumpsuit and what they will do to pay me back. They don’t contact you and they don’t care. The manager is nice but she is useless and helpless. You would expect from such a high experience place a perfect quality but this is very bad. Highly recommend not to do the same mistake I did by going there.

Terrible experience!!

I spilt coffee on my coat so needed it dry cleaned, I paid £30(ish) to have it sent away for a week.
My coat came back still covered in stains, so the manager of the store sent it away for a 2nd time. Once again, I went to collect the coat and it was still dirty.
The manager again said she would send back, to which I said I’d had enough I would take my money back and go somewhere else. The manager refused, saying you could only have a refund if an item has gone back 3 times???? Complete lie to avoid handing back my money.

I was actually understanding of the fact it may have been a difficult job, with parts of the coat being shearling, but never was I told this would not be possible. Aside from that, there were smaller stains on cleanable parts of the coat that I could scratch off with water in the store to prove a point it hadn’t been done properly.

I sent all this in an email to the company via their website a month ago and have received zero response.

Plenty of other better dry cleaners in Islington so really no need to ever return.

Took a simple shirt here for dry cleaning and it was returned with a pen stain. Staff insist that this cannot be removed however happily took payment.

I ended up taking this to 5-star just a few steps away; paid a little more but enjoyed far better service and perfect results.

This has to be one of the best dry cleaners in London and indeed the UK. Sherife's attention to detail, professionalism and commitment is absolute. As a long-standing customer, I can attest to meticulous service and real quality.
