Have used this laundromat a couple of times. The staff are so helpful and take good care of my clothes. They transfer the load to the dryers so I don't have to wait around. Ironing service provided also which is super handy! Great people! Would definitely recommend!

The machines are pretty historic, dirty crying out loud for a good deep clean (since people wash & dry toilet mats and shoes there which I never liked 🤮) and all of them machines need service

The dryers are specially outdated and old, most of the dryers don't dry properly, they drain money, only one dryer works slightly better so all the customers queue-up for that, lady who owns the place always looks grumpy and don't like customers complaining.

The open time is 9am, but always open pretty late. If you go at 9am you have to expect to stand outside for a good 20 minutes or more until they open, but they never apologise for keeping you waiting.

But the staff who work there are friendly, 5 * for them.

So today was the first time I've ever used a laundrette as an adult. I have a vague memory of going to one with my mother as a child but that was in the early 80's. So anyway I don't have a dryer in my flat at it's just too small. Before now my wife takes our washing to her mothers and that's been the set up for over a decade.

Anyway long story less long she basically says she's spending all her time dropping off and picking up washing and she's sick of it and now I'm in charge of drying clothes. My thing is always mitigation so I'm thinking well what's the most efficient way to dry clothes? Gotta be the laundrette.

I remember there's one opposite the barbers I go to (Fade Master) so bring my clothes in.Now I don't even know what a drier looks like so I'm pointed in the right direction and I throw my clothes in. It's 50p for 5 mins. Ok cool. Wait. . .How long do these things take to dry clothes? Guess I'll just keep feeding the meter in 5 minute increments until I find out. So after the first 5 I check. Nah. Still damp. I throw in another 50p. Ding. I check. Getting better but these thick towels still feel damp. A throw in another. Just as I do that the owner drops some knowledge on me. He tells me "Sir you're losing money! Every time you let it stop you're losing out on time it could be drying. It's takes about 40 seconds to heat up every time you start it again and you also lose heat every time you open the door!". Great advice from so one who knows infinity more than me when it comes to Launderette best practice. I throw in another £1 and just let it go.

Me and the owner than had an amazing chat about his business and life in general. I love the fact I get to support local businesses like this run by amazing people. So yes this was my first time here but it won't be my last. . .

After paying I asked for the receipt and the woman who works there told me that she can't give it to me because she doesn't have it. It doesn't seem normal to me such a thing. they just gave me a piece of paper that is NOT worth anything.
