My very complicated divorce started over 4 years ago. Initially I had a nightmare experience with previous solicitors, all of which had problems dealing with it. I then got in touch with Dunn and Baker and spoke to Darren Cleverdon who I found out to be an experienced, dedicated, motivated and very switched on solicitor.

On contacting Darren I was emotionally drained, stressed and confused on where my complex divorce was heading or what I had to do. I felt my case was not driven by my previous solicitors in the way it should have been. As I’ve never gone through a divorce before I needed guidance as well as expert advice.

As soon as Darren got involved my apprehensions disappeared. Darren took full control and worked endless hours throughout. In and out of normal working times. Including some Sunday’s where he would liaise with me prior to court hearings.

I also want to mention Becca Rozier who dealt with issues when Darren wasn’t available. Sometimes when it’s not possible to speak with your solicitor you have to wait until they are available. Well Becca was up to speed with my case from day one and was just as approachable, dedicated and helpful throughout. Together they are a great team and they both got me a great result at the end of my case.

Due to the nature of my divorce my financial settlement took a while. All the time I was with Dunn and Baker I never felt my case had stalled or wasn’t moving. I was constantly informed of what was going on, what I had to do, what the processes ahead would be and what information I had to obtain to help my court case.

Darren’s advice throughout was impeccable. I really felt part of the process because he was so open and honest. Times were hard financially throughout my divorce and Darren was so sincere in saving me money. Which says a lot about his personality and what type of solicitor he is.

If you want solicitors for a complex case then Darren Cleverdon along with Becca are the ones you need on your side. They are competent, approachable and well driven.

I worked with Dunn & Baker on the purchase of a house that fell through due to an issue unrelated to conveyancing (the sellers deciding to stay where they were). The first solicitor that worked on the case, Danielle, was very diligent and detail-oriented, but she left the firm two-thirds of the way through and the case was automatically transferred to a new hire, Sandra.

No one at the firm asked me if I wanted to work with Sandra or gave me any other options, and it took some effort to find out what her background and training was, as she wasn't on the website.

Sandra was friendly, but I never felt that she was across my file. There were also several times where she did not remember the details of conversations that we had previously. I often felt that I was updating her on the progress of the conveyancing rather than the other way around, and the process was frustrating.

I expected the process of purchasing a house to be stressful but that wasn't the case for us. The process was really smooth and Jasmine was super efficient at keeping us updated throughout. It was never difficult to get hold of her and she always responded promptly to emails - such a pleasure! I will definitely recommend her to friends and family.

She was extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. She always returned calls and emails within 1 working day. She always had time to answer my questions and explain he conveyancing process to me.
