We contacted Aston's after a friends recommendation. We had tried four other legal teams, all of which said they couldn't help us and we didn't have a case.

Amanda Cavanagh dealt with our claim. She was absolutely excellent. She kept us informed every step of the way. And handled our case very promptly and professionally. We cannot recommend her enough. And would recommend Aston's to anyone.

I needed to contact a solicitor as a matter of some urgency, and although the company was only working with a skeleton staff in the offices, due to the pandemic I was given an appointment within 4 days. The initially meeting was excellent and my mind was put at rest, followed by a very comprehensive letter/report detailing how things stood legally. I also needed to have a new Will written and again this was handled very professionally.
I would highly recommend Ashtons Legal and would use them again if the situation arose.

We chose to go with Ashtons Legal as there was a Cambridge office and there were a fair few good reviews. The experience we have had with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. Our case got assigned to someone at the Bury St Edmunds office - which was fine as due to COVID most stuff would be done through emails anyway. When we were given a case handler, we were told he would be in touch but we did not hear from them at all until we chased them 4 weeks after and had to call around the offices to get any form of contact. There was terrible lack of communication, with us never getting replies until we chase on emails and calls. We were told things had been done and then further down the line it was admitted that they hadn’t been done. Our process has taken 26 weeks and we still haven’t completed yet. Our case handler went off and we were not informed by him until the night before that he was going. We submitted a formal complaint and the Partner then took on our case, he did get things moving quicker at that point but it took a formal complaint for this to happen and so far we have been offered no form of compensation for the stress and uncertainty this has caused. Communication is key in processes like this and we personally feel like Ashtons Legal have nowhere near provided the services we should’ve received, especially for the money we are paying.

We instructed Ashtons Legal to act on our first house purchase. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team (Janine, Kirsten and Andrew) for your help. I found the service provided thorough, professional and most importantly consistent. Being a first time buyer, I felt I could ask any queries, the communication was fantastic. The whole process was made as simple and easy as possible. Excellent service throughout, we would highly recommend *****!

My husband was the victim of a serious RTC and suffered life threatening and life changing injuries. While I was at the hospital almost 24/7 during the critical first week a friend researched the best personal injury solicitor and he came up with Michael Wangermann of Ashtons Legal. Michael was understanding, empathetic and supportive from the very start. As the case progressed Michael thought ahead and ensured my husband saw the very best experts and he secured the appointment of the very best barrister. The case took five years to settle but Michael and our barrister brought us to the best settlement they could. Michael made himself available and kept us up to date with everything. He guided us through a difficult and often upsetting litigation process, and made sure we had all the professional help we needed.
We would also like to thank Suzanne Whyman from the Lifetime Planning department for her support and assistance with setting up our personal injury trust, a power of attorney and our wills.
Highly recommended.

Absolutely terrible service. We brought our first home, and we used Ashtons Legal as they were recommended to us. They kept asking us to fill out forms we have already done, and they lost important information. They delayed us moving in fot 2 months. I felt the company was very sexist, I would send emails and get ignored but my partner would send an email and get an answer very quickly. It got to the point where we almost pulled out and they have ruined the experience of buying your first home. Taylor whimpey have taken them off their recommendation list due to their poor service, and we will never recommend this company again.
Absolutely awful solicitors.

I don’t normally write negative reviews but I’m afraid I have found Ashtons slow and uncommunicative. Our conveyancer has changed three times without notice or introduction and I’m not even sure who is looking after us now. I understand that people go off sick and are “busy” but we are paying well over £2000 to have a house conveyed and in any case I would expect better from such a firm.
