Newport Office

Rang to arrange appointment with solicitor who specialises in Dispute resolution related issues. Was told no one available but I should leave a voicemail. But … they had a new phone system and not all solicitors had updated their voicemail introduction.
So, I left a message for “number 49”.

No call returned.

Left it a week, and rang again. Explained the issue to receptionist who ASSURED ME that someone would call back.

No call returned, so gone elsewhere.

If this is their level of service, I would be very wary of using them.

I used Harding Evans for a personal I jury claim where I will have continued pain and discomfort forever. They were incredibly slow with my solicitor working part-time and if I knew now what minimal compensation I would get after over 3 years of appointments, paperwork and scaremongering letters telling me I'd loose my job, home and go ro prison if I were lying...it was a horrendous and stressful experience.

I strongly suggest to stay well clear from them, such Time wasters! Incompetent as they have no ability to communicate what so ever ! So much time Wasted don’t even deserve the one star. No level of skills at all.
Quick to take all your cash!
absolute rip off.

I had a telephone appointment with Jane hunt this morning to potentially hire her for a childrens matter, I found her to be very cold and uninterested, she made me feel hopeless before we had even begun and without knowing my circumstances, safe to say I won’t be using this firm.

We used Harding Evans recently for a Clinical Negligence case. The case took a while, which was only to be expected with the nature of the case, but we were so pleased with their services. Justin Chisnall and his team were absolutely brilliant. They kept us informed and up to date and answered any queries we had quickly and efficiently. They put as at ease throughout the whole process. We can not thank them enough and would not hesitate to recommend their company.

I was disappointed with the service I received from Harding Evans as a first-time buyer due to not being given a specific piece of advice that would have saved me a lot of stress. On the day of completion the estate agent said they couldn't arrange for me to view the property but gave me a "100% guarantee" that the house was clean and empty. I asked Harding Evans whether I should delay completion until I'd seen the property, but was told they could not advise me. I felt like I was dealing with the civil service rather than solicitors I was paying for, because they would simply refuse to answer questions like this for some reason. If they had simply said "yes" to this query and advised me to view the property before completion, it would have saved me around £800+ and two weeks of work, since I had been misled by the estate agent, and the house I bought was filthy and full of stuff. Their failure to say that one word (yes) has ended up costing me time and money. If you've bought houses before and just want solicitors to do the paperwork then Harding Evans will do the job for you, but if you're likely to need advice then it might be best to look elsewhere. Apart from the lack of advice the service was fine. Some of these reviews say they were rude, but this was not my experience, they were always polite to me, my only qualm is they failed to advice me on one specific thing that ended up causing me a big headache, if this hadn't happened I'd probably give them 4 stars.

I strongly advise not to use this firm.

Documentation you receive is full of mistakes, managing H&E's progress on your case becomes your second job, for which you will end up paying.

They are expensive, quite slow, and the communication is nearly nonexistent.

Out of respect to your time, nerves and money, avoid this firm, you will find no advice here.

I would never use this firm again, I had Rachael James, from start to finish was terrible very slow and unresponsive. Took 7 months to get to completion. Then wasn't even told when exchange took place or when completion actually was. I had to call the office to find out. Was always having to chase them for any information. Avoid
