Avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely useless, they do not return calls for clients even when messages are left over & over again for weeks. Also, ignore emails sent by their own office & staff in relation to same client & issue.
Slow service, no communication, and late communication often lasting weeks without any explanation or apology. Phone calls ignored and never acknowledged! Everything you would NOT expect from a competent solicitor. Dealing with Palmers was an absolute nightmare and painful life experience. Our caseworker must have been asleep when they read out the SRA Principles.

Furthermore, costs were very unreasonable, work carried out by third party when they clearly failed to understand the objective of the case, which resulted in further delay. Out of pocket by thousands not to mention the extra stress that our family went through. Totally out-of-touch with the real world and a very much “laid back” attitude to everything.

If you happen to get landed by this firm, make sure you agree cost(s) and timeline in advance and a CLEAR mandate from the outset, AGREED IN WRITING.

Personally, I would avoid this firm because they simply do not care about their clients. I would also question if the Partner(s) at this firm have any visibility on the cases.

Now looking to make a claim via the Ombudsman.

We have just completed on a property today - Amy Miller has been brilliant. The whole process has been very complex, with many many problems arising that were out of our control. Amy and the team ensured these were dealt with both professionally and swiftly.

We have used Palmers Solicitors for a number of years now, and have never had anything but excellent service from them.

Thank you to Amy, Katie and Layla for all of your help. I must also mention Michelle Hill at the Basildon branch who has also been imperative to the successful completion to one of the most difficult property sales we have ever experienced.

As we have seen, not all solicitors are the same and Palmers are definitely up there with the best of them.

Palmers Solicitors in Grays, Essex is best avoided. They had the severe inability to keep me informed with the progress or 'lack of progress' of my house sale. They were rude and very unhelpful with my situation as I work overseas. They paid the wrong redemption figure for the remainder of my mortgage making it my business to claim back. They also paid my estate agent fee even though I stated I was handling this which in turn meant the estate agent got paid twice. To conclude in my experience very unprofessional and this practice is best avoided.

Very pleased and impressed with Layla Clarke looking after my first time property purchase, she is an absolute credit to the business, kept me informed and on top of things even when things got challenging like issues with flooding and defects in the lease/ varitions of the deed, I will 100% recommend Palmers, cannot fault them. Also I need to mention Makayla Phillips (Basildon office I think) also in the same respect as she advised me on a small contractual issue another credit to the business again another reason I will always use and recommend Palmers. Palmers have been outstanding. Layla and her team have been brilliant. It’s hard to find a decent conveyancing firm that respond to emails/phone calls as they all seem to be taking on to much work and don’t ever respond.
