It sounded professional at the start but unfortunately it was downhill from there.
The communication from LARK was terrible. Calls and emails went unanswered for days. Joanna seemed unaware of basic customer service, and whenever we actually spoke to her, we were treated like an annoying problem.
When the contracts pack was sent through, I thoroughly read through and highlighted errors. We were buying a property after all! There were errors like the name of the solicitor was wrong in the lease. When I informed Joanne of my findings, she said angrily 'All you need to concern yourself with is the price'.
The day before contracts were being exchanged, we emailed Joanne (I think the only solicitor in the office) and only then she told us that she was going on holiday - the next day. She dumped all of her work on a locum solicitor, seemingly without explaining anything about our case. We had to explain who we were and that we were due to exchange and complete on the purchase that day.
We are even more shocked at LARK's service after finding another solicitors company, for another property, who are very helpful and efficient.
The price was excellent and the service was too. The communication from her was good, clear and sufficient - I received updates when there were any issues that needed my attention and did what was required to help the process along. From speaking to a friend recently who was moving she was pretty much expecting an update on a daily basis from her solicitor as to what is happening and like they are the only case a solicitor has on! It makes the house sale process much less stressful leaving someone alone and trusting them to do their job!!! As we live overseas I pretty much did that and she even sorted out our incompetent estate agents!!!
Joanne clearly works long hours to ensure the job gets done and completion dates are met, as I frequently got emails well into the evening.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending people to use LARKs - we will again.
Me and my partner were buying a house as a first time buyers so we had no knowledge about the process and all paperwork that needs to be sorted. Joanne help us understand every step and was very good adviser with some hard decisions.
Her professionalism and experience become key aspect with the case and all went through quick and smooth.

From start to finish Joanne has been fantastic. She has been patient in explaining the process at each start and answering my endless questions, quickly and in a way that is understandable.
The sellers solicitor was incredibly difficult and uncooperative but thanks to Joanne's diligence and persistence, going above and beyond what most solicitors do, we managed to get the purchase over the line on the deadline.
I am hugely grateful to Joanne for all her help, hard work and kindness. I cannot recommend her more highly. Thank you again!
Not sure how that's even possible (especially after I expressed my concerns but Joanne assured me that they would be sent back securely) but they did... and then tried to blame the post office for not giving them a receipt rather than taking responsibility for their very poor handling of such important documents. They paid for us to apply for a replacement passport and they paid for the flights that we had to cancel (we were going to a friend's wedding in Portugal that we missed because the passports took so long to come back). Joanne became defensive in her emails to us near the end of the conveyancing transaction and no compensation for any kind for the upset and stress caused, not even a discount off her fees for our double conveyancing transaction, which we were extremely disappointed by.
Service was equally poor overall to be honest- we had to complain more than once due to Joanne being away or difficult to get hold of and her assistants not following up on things properly. We found that we weren't properly advised as the transaction proceeded step by step and thought this was something that could definitely be improved on - for example, a clear overview of the whole process and explaining things clearly at the very start of the transaction would have helped. Very disappointing as she came recommended by my partner as he'd used her about 4 years ago and was impressed, but things were very different this time and we were both disappointed overall. We felt it was important to give an honest review of our experiences for others to hear.
