I cannot fault the service provided by Penman Sedgwick, in particular, David Claydon. I found myself in a situation where Watford Council wanted to prosecute me under the road traffic act regarding disabled badge use. I met up with David who attended a meeting at the Council offices followed by a further court hearing. On both occasions, I found that David was extremely knowledgeable and confident in dealing with the situation. He advised me in a very pragmatic way and managed all my expectations at every stage.
We had the court hearing today and given the circumstances they were prosecuting me for, we agreed a guilty plea. However, David articulated very succinctly the reasons why the magistrate should show leniency. I was delighted to hear that they were giving me a conditional discharge. We couldn’t have asked for a better result. So well done to David. I would happily recommend David to anyone that has found themselves in a spot of bother and need representation from a professional, intelligent and competent lawyer.

The worst law firm I have ever encountered. The Solicitors delay everything and rarely ever (if you’re lucky) respond to you. Out of desperation I called reception in order to get hold of the Solicitor. The reaction and the unprofessional manner in which the receptionist responded has shocked me. Never have I encountered someone with such lack of compassion or care for clients. The receptionist’s exact response was ‘I don’t know what you want me to do’ and ‘I can’t do anything’ and ‘I’ve got no idea of where he is, keep emailing him’. I am gobsmacked. The receptionist needs training on client care, why is she doing a job which involves dealing with clients over the telephone when she hates her job and cannot wait to hang up the phone?

I have waited over 2 weeks for a response which has now delayed my case and cost me a huge amount of money. Penmann Sedgwick charge an extortionate amount and do not care about any cases!! please check other law firms/Solicitors with great experience and better customer service so you get your money’s worth.

Initially, I was facing 2 serious counts of possession with intent to supply class A. I had accepted legal aid, and realised what a bad decision that was as my first court date approached. When i called Mary I had 2 days until the first court date. I felt that there may still be a chance left if I managed to find some amazing legal representation, and boy was I in luck.

I was represented by Mary Kyriacou and on the final date of court, Matthew Hardyman. I cant sing their praises enough

There was no stone left unturned, any and every factor was considered, the communication was second to none, which  made me feel reassured that I had someone In my corner who was prioritising time and resources.

Mary Kyriacou was extremely professional, and heard everything I had to say In regards the case and my arrest. I had 2 court dates, she oversaw my whole case from start to finish and recommended a barrister to represent me (Matthew Hardyman) in Crown court after coming to Magistrates court, fighting my case, helping formalise a plan of action and ultimately in the long run keeping me out of prison.

If I had not called at the last minute this would of 100% resulted in a custodial sentance. Mary Kyriacou and Matthew Hardyman got me a second chance, I hope I never need legal representation again for such matters but rest assured that if I do, Penman Sedgwick LLP will be the first number I dial.

Avoid this legal team, Claire will not have the best interests of her clients at heart, far more interested in ensuring that the best route is easiest and helps her fellow solicitors to get as much money as possible.
I would even go as far to say her knowledge base of law is questionable!

Prosecution for Train Fare Evasion
I would highly recommend Penman Sedgwick! I was stopped on a rail journey for buying a child’s ticket instead of an adults. I received notification that the Train Operator was going to prosecute me in Magistrates Court for fare evasion, so I instructed Penman Sedgwick. Speed was of the essence as a court date was being set and Mary Kyriacou conducted an interview with me to gather the facts within 24 hours of instruction. The following day the letter had gone to the train operator. Within one week my case was settled out of court by way of a fine and most importantly with no criminal record. I cannot recommend Mary highly enough!

Where do I start?? One house sale followed by one house purchase. 3 different solicitors. Fees? Don’t worry about getting a quote before hand, because they’ll definitely charge you more and state that they will not complete for you until it is paid. When you put yourself out, drive to their office and pay their ‘final bill’ they still kick the tyres and take another couple of weeks anyway. I was having to pay rent and storage fees for 6 MONTHS!! This was while waiting for them to complete their paperwork, on a cash buy on an empty house!! No communication, no updates, very poor. You also can’t get hold of them by phone, only email and if you specifically ask them to phone, they’ll still email! Very helpful when your moving out of your house and have had your broadband services disconnected!!! This company do not have their clients best interests at heart, due care?? Cost a good few thousand for me in rent and storage alone, all while they were sitting on my money in their accounts. They were 100% aware of my situation, as I had told them multiple times. When the solicitors change over, they don’t inform each other of where they’re at...more delays. So today, I’ve had an email! I’m waiting at the hospital for my partner, very worrying time, and this company email me to say I owe them another £77.00. Was their error on their diabolical final bill! When I’ve paid this, they’ll complete registration of my house with land registry!! Really wish I could post a snapshot of their final bill, incidentally was over 2 weeks ago, why has this not been completed already!! And why are you charging for your errors? Absolutely disgusting. I feel a phone call to SRA imminent

Outstanding family lawyers. I just wish I had found them earlier. Very impressive knowledge of the law, extremely well organized, proactive, with a strategic approach. These guys are really in your corner and looking out for their client's best interests. excellent value and they are always looking for how to do things as efficiently as possible.
