As bad if not worse than any other solicitor in Mansfield. Visited this office 6 months ago regarding another solicitor I was dealing with. Paid £200.00 that day ..finally managed to get a letter on 23/01/2018 (nearly 6 months later) . In the meantime I had already sorted the problem with the other solicitors out due to no correspondence from shacklocks. I rang this office to tell them I had resolved the problem and within 3 days got a bill for an extra £110.00. So it actually cost me £310.00 for just over 1 hrs work that took 6 months to do. I would NEVER recommend this firm of solicitors to anyone... absolute rip off

I used Shacklock’s at Belper for my divorce. Unfortunately my ex was a complete pain and very manipulating!! It was a 2 year process and it was the unknown for me.

Absolute disgrace of a law firm. The worst service I have ever received from any company. Using them for conveyancing service. Was given an eight week timescale in August last year. Eight MONTHS later, I still do not have a completion date. It is not a complicated sale. Passed from pillar to post and never get a straight answer. Have lost count of the amount of times that I have rang but cannot get through to the conveyancing department. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE LEFT FEELING ANGRY AND HELPLESS FOR MONTHS ON END

Had the misfortune of dealing with shacklocks for a recent house move. They were working for the end of our chain and they constantly held up proceedings. They still rely on post rather than email for simple documentation and seem to be very much stuck in the past. Simple issues raised with them took weeks to sort and their communication with the other solicitors and estate agents in the chain left a lot to be desired. I think some of their conveyancing team have lost the joy for the job and seem to be intent on being awkward. The best one was when we were told they needed permission from a partner of the firm for same day exchange and complete. Why would a qualified lawyer of 15 years need permission to do something that is very common place? If you want a smooth house move then look elsewhere as I doubt you'll get that from shacklocks.
