Birkett Long LLP

We recently used Birkett Long to complete a house purchase and they were excellent. Alison was extremely professional and really took the stress out of the house buying process. An efficient service and would thoroughly recommend Birkett Long to anyone looking for a conveyancer.

I have used Birkett Long on many occasions over the last 15+ years. I have always received fantastic service and the staff are all extremely personable (specific acknowledgement to Kevin Sullivan and Tracy England, whom I have worked with on various matters). Their costs are competitive. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Very poor communication, no proactive reporting and poor response to phone messages or emails. I had to continually chase to find out the status of the sale/purchase. Not even a phone call to advise we had completed. Mistakes made in legal documentation, no apology given. Overall the worst conveyancing I have ever experienced and would definitely not recommend. Birkett Long would do well to see how Cunningtons perform conveyancing - the complete opposite end of the customer service scale.

Birkett long are professional but very expensive. Most of the fees earned by them were through sending unnecessary letters to me then billing me for them dispite frequent requests to only contact me when I needed to provide information to them, they continued sending weekly updates, costing me a lot of money I feel was unnecessary and had asked to not do, they refused. Birkett Long set an ambiguous budget stating this was how much it would cost. For services most of this budget was used sending their customer letters and charging for it. I have now left as a customer due to this. I have read their response and disagree Birkett Long were sacked in Sept 2018 I represented myself in the following court cases and won. I have letters from Birkett Long showing the case was passed to me and they had no longer involvement
My success had nothing to do with my representation through Birkett long as they were sacked 2 months before my final case when I represented myself. So I am lowering my score because their explanation is not accurate.

We used Birkett Long’s conveyancing department for our recent house sale and purchase. The service was excellent - professional and thorough. Communication was great, Jemma and her team were always responsive and quick to deal with any queries.

A few months ago I was contacted by Birkett Long asking me if I wished to review our joint wills. I put it off, hoping we could have a normal Christmas first. That didn't happen! I then went back to them and was invited to talk to David Feakins, a solicitor in the practice. As instructed by Boris the office was closed but David made all the arrangements to have Microsoft Teams meeting for my wife and I.
I think we all worry about how much it will cost to go to law but David made it quite clear up front how much the various options would cost and the fact that he wasn't charging by the minute for his time on line.
We now have two wills which I think will give the best deal for our beneficiaries and hopefully avoid swallowing up the whole estate in care home costs.
Incidentally he also gave me some free advice about LPAs which will save me a few bob!

We experienced a brilliant service from Birkett Long. Holly dealt with our debt collection issue so well. We were always well informed with the perfect amount of guidance and a great result at the end of the process. I always assumed these things would drag on for some time but the issue was resolved so quickly.

We have used Alison Bear at Birkett Long for all of our conveyancing and have always been extremely happy with her work. In our most recent sale / purchase which was at no point straight forward she was nothing short of brilliant, she kept us updated, responded to various third parties extremely quickly at what must have been an incredibly busy time for solicitors with the stamp duty holiday deadline. We would certainly recommend Alison and Birkett Long for any conveyancing.
