I have been using the gym fairly regularly for about 6 years and now I feel the need to make a review. I asked recently about the shocking state of the showers in the gym and pool. I was told they will be replaced when the hotel can afford it. Frankly it’s not good enough they are simply disgusting and they stink. PLEASE NOTE government agencies and the CDC in the United states. If some time in 2017 there is a bacterial pandemic that wipes out millions of people it may be worth checking these showers as the source of the bacteria. There is a good chance that something horrific is being born under the floor.

Th staff are lovely and the rest of the gym is ok but the showers are simply abhorrent.

Good size pool and the staff are lovely, facilities and changing areas need updating. Not enough lockers when busy. Hairdryers scarce and always something not working or in need of repair or update. Showers second rate and only 4 upstairs at pool area.

Joined about a month ago. Friendly helpful staff. Sam and Adam were brilliant. Facilities are good and clean however some areas could do with a facelift but I'm sure that will come in time. Plenty of parking. Love it here.

One Receptionist very friendly the more mature lady otherwise everyone else doesn't want to know. lifeguards spend more time talking to their mates than actually watching the pool. It is very rare the jacuzzi is working, changing rooms are not very clean I would not recommend this place. They advertise this place to go for a spa day that has to be a joke!

Expensive and limited facilities.

The centre would appear to suit those looking at cardio workouts as there are ample bikes and treadmills. Anyone looking to weight train should look elsewhere as this has the small room of free weights and machines I've ever come across. Changing area and showers could do with a makeover.

Positives include good free parking, friendly staff and a number of classes.

However the price and limited equipment mean this is not a worthwhile choice. Anytime Fitness has similar prices but a far greater range of equipment, free parking and private changing facilities.

Good afternoon out, used your swimming area. Disabled access needs to be looked at. No ramp to main hotel reception, we had to use a side entrance, accessible changing room had no locker key as someone had stolen it. If using the accessible changing room please note that you then have to go through a main corridor to get poolside. Able bodied people are required to shower before using pool, where is the disabled shower so we can have the same rights. Staff were very friendly both at the pool and the hotel, hence the 2 stars instead of 1. Food wasn't that bad, my husband says that the showers in the gents were abit grotty.

I had the most appalling abuse from a swimmer who was hogging the fast lane and not swimming safely or according to the clearly signed direction. He virtually swam into me because he was on the wrong side and started having a go AT ME. He was aggressive and abusive. The life guard ( Liam), obviously acquainted with him, argued with me and took his side. I received no apology from either or from the manager.

This is the third time I've experienced this type of abusive behaviour at this pool behaviour with nothing being done about it by management.

I've swam in over 100s pools and lidos and have never come across this repeated arrogant, rude behaviour from swimmers and life guards.

There's also no courtesy or understanding of basic lane etiquette, hygiene 'rules' and no one managing it properly.
