Very clean, friendly staff. Best leisure centre around. Great for families and kids too.

New equipment bought lately so that's the only thing good. Membership prices gone up again and now a cancellation charge of £3 every time if u don't turn up to a booked section or even cancel ur booked session within 5 hours of the class or gym session that's a joke. And till u pay the fee u can't book any thing else.

Website is useless, the staff refuse to answer the phone.
Something simple like finding out family swimming times was a stressful encounter, I gave up in the end!

Just been swimming with my daughter today. Absaloutey freezing their within 5 minutes she was shivering and lips went blue. The showers were cold to so couldn't even warm up with a hot shower.

Kids party in the soft play area. Everything was well organised, kids food was good.
All in all a brilliant experience

Please keep away from this company! The amount of ongoing issues I have had since rejoining has been a nightmare and not worth the hassle anymore! Continuously being blocked from booking classes as they are saying that my membership isn’t valid, despite them having my correct bank details and I haven’t done any cancellations! In January I reinstated the memebership over the phone with them again, which took nearly and hour and a half on the phone to try and resolve the issues, but today again after going to book a class, I’ve been blocked off again from booking with the same issue of that my membership isn’t valid!! Although, again they have my correct bank details which was set up in January! Again, Actif has my correct bank details! This clearly isn’t the issue on my side; but have tried many times to explain the long saga to Actif, but it comes across that the blame is with my bank! Although I have no issues with any other accounts with my bank! Actif, you are responsible for the outgoings of direct debits, you call for the money, and not customer! As previously mentioned you cannot call for a direct debit from a closed account!! Honestly, I haven’t had so many issues from a fitness company, and I’ve been a member of many over the years!! It’s been one hassle after the other!! I’m don’t with it all!! So guys, if you want a hassle free fitness company, I suggest you go elsewhere!!! #nightmare

I visited the Leisure Centre to use the Gym today whilst I was staying in the area. I booked the session online (after creating a free account), and turned up for my session. Staff on reception were very helpful explaining where things were.
The gym is very impressive, and absolutely full of lots of different types of equipment, including a whole range of resistance machines and free weights. There are two rooms (the main gym, and an exercise room (which I assume is for classes, but also contains some equipment if you want to break out from the main space). All the equipment was very clean, but some of the equipment is a bit tired, however this is made up for the huge range of equipment there to use.
A single walk in session cost £6.40, but I think this is very reasonable for how much there is to offer. Overall, a great experience, and it's a shame I live 200 miles away!

I had a great swim, and the facilities and access were good, but the place wasn't clean, and the changing rooms were tatty. Broken lights and doors and really, really dirty toilets. Otherwise I had a good time.
