Penn Library

Most libraries are great but the rudeness me and my sister experienced was horrific. I vowed never to return to the library. Me and my sister were going to the library but I had lost my library card due to the fact I moved house. She told us off really badly. She told me I was irresponsible and though I insisted I wouldn’t t find it she made look for it again. She also expected my sister,who brought her old library card with her, to find a library card from 4 years ago. Ridiculous. After this we went to finchefield library and they gave us a new card with no questions. This library is rubbish and the people upset me loads. Never go here

I could never Warm to this Library because there is a not very nice Atmosphere/Vibe to the Staff & Users!.

I can't say I agree with the comments about the staff, as any I have spoken to have been friendly and helpful. But the strange opening hours, lack of plug sockets and quite loud older people using it as more of a social centre rather than a quiet read/study/workspace let the place down. Maybe a quiet area in a corner with a couple of computers, plug sockets and desks would be helpful. As well as not closing for an hour in the middle of the day! It defeats the objective of having a local library if you have to travel into the city centre for a full service.

First time I've visited Penn library since my teens. Lovely library, well organised and a really nice librarian who helped me get my library card updated etc. I hope to visit regularly now it's my local library.
