As for the noise, it's unbearable and staff make little attempt at maintaining peace, order and silience. I don't think this library is ever silent.
For example you have a open plan play area where small children play in the main library, which is understandably noisy. Then there is some sort of myCouncil helpdeak where poeple que to chat with the council in the actual library for all to unwantingly hear. Finally but not least when the local school kicks out the staff let them hang out here. So this results in just tons of kids kicking, punching & pinching each other, shouting at each other, talking loudly with each other (not a single book between them).
Then there is the computer area. Kids sharing computers to play online games while again horseplaying around and chatting. No staff intervation at all to quiet them down. Even the adult computer users are using the computer speakers to play music out loud or watch music.
The place is poorly staffed with poor fitttings that look modern and nice but are not functional. Get taller book shelves for a start! They layout is poor as well. Really a substandard library.
