This library has been at the heart of New Cross community for ages. It has always been run with passion, now by volunteers.

To call it ‘just a library’ would be a disservice as it has been a centre for supporting people, campaigns and more.

Yes, it is a library, a space of calm with a wide selection of books and more you can order via the Lewisham library service. It’s free and easy to join for residents and borrowing/returning books just takes a few presses.

But look up and see the creativity in the ceiling, come on a Saturday and see people learning new digital skills, visit the credit union in the front window and just talk to get an idea of what is happening in our wide and diverse community.

All are welcomed and all are truly welcome.

This is a great library. The people who run is good they are helpful and considerate. There is a range of things to learn. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable. It is so nice and relaxing.

I am very happy this place is back. I hope for the good of the community. The printing is a godsend, comparing to the mailbox which charges an excessive price to use the B&W Printing service.
