This is really more of a fair-to-good library, but the simple fact that it exists, and on a high street, gets it an "excellent" rating from me.

Decent, fairly up to date collection. All the fiction best sellers, much of the more prominent non-fiction (though they underestimate demand, as best-seller non-fiction is always on hold), plenty of local history, wide maternity and childcare section, and a whole shelf of graphic novels, including some of the more acclaimed recent issues, which is refreshing.

Staff is helpful but slow. Hours could be better. Building is gorgeous, at least on the outside.

Brilliant. I'd let my membership lapse. Rejoining was easy. Now it's far more computerised but service is still slick, friendly, very very helpful. People, be relieved we still have this amazing service and use it!!

Friendly local library, get books, DVDs and CDs, and even get your recycling bags from the counter. And if you want a bigger choice of books, choose and reserve something from another Islington library on line and it will be ready for within days. Great local service, long may it last

Helpful, supportive, and interested staff. A real sense of History is palpable here. Joe Orton might have popped in before heading up to Fieldway Crescent and George Orwell might have also called to take the sting out of a 1930s winter. The black and white marble marks a striking entry.

Kind and supportive staff. Small selection, but book transfers from other Islington libraries are quick. An excellent and underrated community resource.

Great local amenity, clean and well-run with helpful staff and a calm environment. Reading room is fairly small, but there are lots of computers available.
One thing I don't get is the lack of toilets..? There is a Costa next door but it's very inconvenient to have to pack up and leave etc. Just seems odd to me that a public building would not have a toilet available for its users. Have noticed this in other libraries in the area as well and am perplexed.

Okay libary , but no ramp for buggies or wheelchairs is terrible and some of the staff are very unfriendly and books are in bit of a state..

Friendly and very helpful staff. Easy to register for a library card, and free recycling and compost bags.
