Cecil Sharp House is a hall near Camden High Street mainly used by the English Folk Dance & Song Society. I go for the Ceilidh dancing (like line-dancing but Scottisher) but they hold all sorts of dancing events and performances.

It's nothing special on the inside (or outside), and with the benches and lockers reminds me a bit of a school hall - except a school hall probably won't have a downstairs bar.

The Ceilidh dancing goes on for three hours and costs around £8 per person - same as the cinema and much more fun. Even if, like me, you slip over and can't keep up with the pro's (they'll be the ones wearing sporrans and kilts). The crowd is surprisingly young and there's loads of beginners.

Did I mention there was a bar?
