Don't go to this library. Here's why:

1. None of the staff stop people talking in the 'quiet study area'.
2. There's no toilet - you have to either chance it on the high street or go in an often shut public toilet.
3. This is a hard point to make, and I have no problem with mentally handicapped people, but when you have people shouting or talking constantly in a supposed quiet study area, it makes the "quiet area" completely pointless.

If you need a quiet place to come and work, go somewhere else. The staff just don't care. What a shame

The most miserable library staff in the world. Went with my son to get books this morning. Hornsey and Stroud green library wonderful with children and always a lovely experience. Librarians here looked at him like an irritant, barely mumbled two words and lied about having a toilet (?)
Seriously invest in some staff that actually like people. You want children to enjoy books and the library ?it won't happen here.

Staff sitting at reception chatting for hours and treating it as a common room while library users sit in the computer room for peace and quiet. The printer and computer fan eventually becomes white noise, unfortunately the staff talking can be unbearable.

I don't live locally and had occasion to visit (by appointment) the library archives section. I found I was expected and all the stuff I needed was set out immaculately for me. I and my accompanying grandson were treated very well and made welcome. A good experience and the individual who took care of us was: Clare Stephens, who I can recommend as a fine professional. So, well done one and all.

Amazing local library with friendly and helpful staff. Good for book loans, recommendations, printing and computer services. Very happy to be signed up!

Functional relic of a bygone era. Holding out for the restoration of the former Borough of Hornsey which it still proudly displays on its facade. Feels like any civic managed library back in the 1980s rather than the shiny multi purpose learning and community space that other libraries have become.

Good, quiet atmosphere with exemplary facilities for a small library. A few national newspapers would result in five stars.

No matter what anyone says about my local library.. our library staff very friendly, calm, they are pillars in our society who encourage our kids to read , co ducting reading challenges summer, they make little book markers with summary of books. They always..have themed writer/books in the centre displayed in children section encouraging children to read them. You need to visit library more often.. know people who works there..before criticising them.

This Library has really good collection for children. Staff are very friendly, cheerful and helpful. The staff are always there to guide you to find relevant books for school projects, dyslexic friendly, classic to modern, fiction and non fiction . The library has quite and calm environment for adults and children. We are lucky to have this building and dedicated staff.
